The Exciting Airsoft Sniper Rifle Part One

In the ever-growing worldwide popularity of the sport of Airsoft, no player has captured the imagination of war gamers more than the character known as the Airsoft "SNIPER".

Often referred to as the Lone Wolf or Rogue of Airsofting, the Sniper is the gamer who wants to set himself up in the perfect ambush position and than take out his opponents with long range speed and accuracy.

The weapon of choice for this exciting player is the popular Airsoft Sniper Rifle. Of all the available Airsoft guns, the Airsoft Sniper Rifle is best suited for this type of player. Big and somewhat cumbersome, the Airsoft Sniper Rifle is designed for long range shooting with high velocity. These Airsoft guns are capable of creating some of the highest pellet velocities in the entire industry. These rifles are also noted for delivering heightened accuracy. The Sniper Rifle has an average length of around 42 inches (1070mm), with a firing velocity that approaches roughly 390ft/sec. These guns are usually powered by a bolt-action spring instead of an electric motor or gas. This makes the rifle advantageous in combat due to the quietness of its firing mechanism as compared to the much louder discharge of other power sources. The quiet bolt-action spring allows the shooter the ability to surprise other players more easily.

Due to their large length, the Sniper Rifle functions more accurately when used in a stationary position, usually mounted on a bipod. Although big in size, they are primarily designed to be used by a gamer who is set up in one spot. Because of its hefty size, these Airsoft guns are difficult to wield in close quarter situations. To alleviate this problem some rifles come with folding or removable stocks.

Along with a bipod, other important accessories for the Lone Wolf Airsoft Sniper and his rifle would include a laser scope. The advanced laser scope gives the shooter his best chance for optimal long-range accuracy. Being on the move for better ambush locations often necessitates the need for a quality shoulder harness to help in transporting the rifle. A large hi-cap magazine that holds a minimum of thirty bbs is also a necessary ingredient in prolonging the battle life of the gallant Airsoft Sniper.

One of the more popular Airsoft Sniper Rifle model lines is the Super 9 series. Designed after the Belgian police rifle with the customary windows in the stock, the Super 9 series has an extremely realistic look. The Super 9 series Airsoft guns cost around 100 U.S. dollars without any upgrades. It is important to keep in mind from a cost perspective that in order for the Super 9 to be effective in a serious Airsoft war game such as the Mil-Sim, it will require a number of the significant upgrades already mentioned. This will also increase the financial investment.

There are many exciting types of Airsoft guns available to all Airssoft enthusiasts and veteran war game players. But to those gamers who prefer the sniper's thrill of stealth and surprise, no gun can match the exciting Airsoft Sniper Rifle.

The More Expensive Airsoft Sniper Rifles Are Not Necessarily Better!

If you're an active gamer, you're probably looking forward to the day you can implement your best stealth moves with an Airsoft sniper rifle. But you don't have a lot of money to spend either, so you're looking for something cheap. Now, there's an old saying that says, "You get what you pay for" and it implies that if you spend more money on something, you'll get a better quality product. But with Airsoft sniper rifles, that is not necessarily the case at all. In fact, some of their cheaper models actually outperform other more expensive sniper rifle models! But how do you know which of the cheaper versions delivers the good results? Well, keep reading and take some notes.

Too Cheap is Probably Too Cheap

There is such a thing as too cheap. If you find a sniper rifle for $10, you can pretty much guarantee it's not going to last very long. After all, you do want a sniper rifle that is made of good quality materials. On the other hand, for $30 to $50 or so, you can find some relatively nice sniper rifles through wholesale outlets or online at venues like Craigslist or eBay. Use caution, though, and make sure you know what you're getting so you don't get scammed.

Cheap, But Not SO Cheap

If you're looking for good quality Airsoft sniper rifles, an investment of $40 to $75 would be considered mid-range cheap. As a rule, you can get some pretty good deals in this price range. Many of the models with spring-powered action are every bit as good-or better-for durability, accuracy, and range as more expensive models like the AEGs. The one downside is that the less expensive Airsoft sniper rifles tend to be somewhat heavier and bulkier than the AEG sniper rifles. On the other hand, you can get some gas-powered model Airsoft sniper rifles in this same price range that would be pretty comparable to the AEGs all around.

Do Your Homework

Before you buy, it's a good idea to do a little research. The Airsoft forums online are a great resource to find out information from other gamers like you what works well and what doesn't-and also where to get some of the best bargains. You can learn a lot just by hanging out online and reading up. Then, based on the information you learn, you can look online to find a good deal on a cheap Airsoft sniper rifle that still gets great results. As always, use caution when purchasing anything online and don't give out your credit card information to just anyone. You may want to consider calling the number on the website to be sure you have a reputable business before you order from a website. You can also find some good deals on eBay.

If you're looking for a high quality brand, Airsoft sniper rifles are a good investment. For a moderately cheap amount of money, you can get a good deal on some fine weaponry and have a lot of fun. Just be sure you know what you're looking for when you're shopping.

Airsoft Sniper Rifles - Hitting From a Distance

During airsoft games, players get a feel of the real deal. Using replicas of live weapons that are used in police and military operations, they can set objectives or rules that would allow them to have a taste of the adrenaline rush and exchanges that happen during a mission. Instead of using live ammunition, small, non-metallic pellets are used. These are expelled from realistic weapons with the use of a battery-powered gearbox, a spring or some compressed gas.

Not only do airsoft games allow its players to have a try at police and military missions, these games can also build teamwork and provide an awesome recreational activity that could be played by anyone. Regardless of size, height or gender, these airsoft games can be played by anyone. The sniper position is perfect for people who are not very agile. They don't need to move around too much. They just need to pick a perfect spot for making their kills. Of course, having steady hands as well as an ability to stay motionless and invisible can also be a plus.

Airsoft Snipers

Snipers are a very good addition to any airsoft team. From an unseen position, they have a good view of the battlefield and can fire at valuable targets before disappearing into thin air. These guys are like shadows that guard their fellow players as they move towards their objective. This role requires intense concentration.

Although being a sniper in an airsoft game can be a cool and empowering experience, finding a gun that would suit you can be a bit difficult. Unlike other rifles that frequent forums and different retailers, airsoft sniper rifles are quite rare. They are also a bit expensive. Worse, these guns can be useless when it comes to skirmishes. For these reasons, this role requires a lot of commitment. Although airsoft sniper rifles can be very attractive to newcomers, they should consider whether they should take this position or not. Otherwise, they would end up having to buy two guns - a sniper rifle and another one that they could use for skirmishes.

Making the Most of Airsoft Sniper Rifles

After having committed to this role, one should know how to make the most of his sniper rifle. When buying airsoft sniper rifles, choose a rifle that is over 350 fps. Anything less than that would be useless in a game. Airsoft sniper rifles can be upgraded. By replacing some parts, these rifles can be hardwired to fire pellets that will move at a speed of 400 fps and above. This will definitely put an edge to a player's game.

Choosing the right ammunition is very important. The weight of the pellets will definitely have an effect on the performance of a weapon. Airsoft pellets with a weight of 0.2 grams are commonly used. This can be used with 300 to 350 fps rifles. Rifles that can fire pellets at a velocity of 400 fps and above should choose pellets that weigh 0.2 to 0.3 grams. Otherwise, the accuracy of the gun at long range will be greatly affected.

Airsoft Sniper Tactics

The games played with airsoft guns are the kiddo version of the Hollywood action flicks. In this the two teams of children hit one another with airsoft rifles and lay down the opponents with the non metallic bullets fired from these guns. There is plethora of rifle models available in the market, but the Airsoft Sniper Tactics remains to be the most loved one. They are quite easy to handle and gives a stylish look and feel too.

The spring powered snipers are the ones which are easy on your pockets and are quite near to their real version. Being cheap doesn't mean that you settle for low quality guns. It will take the fun out of your gaming and will end up being a trouble. Also the low grade rifles use metals and plastics which are not appropriate for your children's health. The spring powered rifles have a problem that they need to be loaded and cocked every time a shot is made. On a different note, electric and gas powered rifles are automatic in this.

Airsoft Snipers are best at shooting enemies from a long range. It allows you to aim precisely on the enemies even from a distance and makes you safer. It is a misconception that gas or electric powered rifles are better than the spring powered. The ability to adapt themselves as per the shot is best seen in spring powered snipers. If your opponent is using gorilla war strategy with you, then playing with snipers can add spices to the game and give you real thrill. All you need is to be accurate in shooting your camouflaged enemies.

Airsoft Sniper Tactics gives you the excitement and feel of real battle fields. It allows you to get into the authentic fervor of the game. You need to take on certain upgrades t make your sniper rifle more vibrant and dynamic in its operation. Airsoft Sniper Tactics are same as that of the strategy used by the military in its operations.

As we have talked about earlier, all airsoft sniper rifles are generally spring powered, but you can also get electric powered and gas powered Airsoft Sniper Tactics. The real feel of a sniper comes only when you use the spring powered version as it has to be cocked up every time you fire a bullet. It also requires a firm grip and a tough handling. The support stands are also available to give your airsoft sniper a firm and rooted base, so that you can aim at your target without worrying about its shaking movements. A high level of patience is required to handle this rifle.

Airsoft Snipers are the best gift for anyone who is an avid fan of this sport. It gives him an enthralling experience of real time shooting. Many players make snipers as their first gun and feel good after using it. Always take care not to compromise on quality as it may degrade your performance and can also be injurious to health.

The Art of Being An Airsoft Sniper Part II

As the sport of Airsoft continues its meteoric rise in worldwide popularity, Airsoft war games called "Skirmishes" are emerging on sophisticated replica battlefields in many venues as well. Veteran Airsoft warriors as well as beginners don their camouflage battle suits and Airsoft guns and head for the battle sight as military role-players in an imaginary war. No one role-player has captured the interest of Airsoft players more than the venerable Airsoft sniper. Though many players ascribe to be a sniper, few have mastered the needed skills to become a "Super Sniper".

Once the player desiring to be a sniper has wisely chosen the proper equipment, it is then encumbered upon him to master the simple tips and techniques needed to become a deadly sharpshooter. The veteran sniper has come to understand the capability of his Airsoft sniper rifle through regular firing practice. He has become extremely familiar with his guns unique shots and its accuracy at various distances. Constant practice keeps the sniper's instincts sharp and ready for quick wartime responses.

Much like real soldiers, the smart sniper keeps his equipment in tiptop shape in order to gain an edge on the enemy. A soiled and dirty rifle will affect its accuracy and overall performance. Regular cleaning of the Airsoft sniper rifle is a must, along with any other weapons he carries. Buy a proven Airsoft gun cleaner such as a silicone spray and use it every 2000 to 5000 shots.

Though often alone in hidden hideouts, the sniper must be ready for close range firefights. In close quarter skirmishes, the lengthy Airsoft sniper rifle designed for long range shooting is awkward in its maneuverability. The "Super Sniper" prepares for this close battle by carrying a sidearm such as a pistol or an automatic electric weapon. A holster or a back strap for this sidearm is critical along with extra ammo magazines.

With dedicated care and familiarity with his weapon, the sniper must now learn perhaps the most important steps to his success - proper stealth techniques. The sniper must first study his environment. The terrain, trees, and bushes can become allies of war. These natural elements should be viewed as potential hiding places or fallback points. When entering the battle zone, the sniper should move carefully, slow and preferably low to the ground, in order not to be detected by the enemy.

When moving through the field, the sniper must watch his step. Twigs and leaves snap and make a crunching sound when stepped upon which can expose his coveted secret position. The silent warrior looks for hard surfaces such as rocks or packed dirt to step on. The sniper must not be afraid to get dirty. Often he must crawl on his belly through mud and dirt to achieve the best hidden position. Sometimes crouching beneath low hanging tree limbs with plenty of dusty leaves is the optimal hideout.

The wise sniper always has an escape route. This prevents him from being encircled and trapped by the enemy. When on a deep strike mission to pick off an enemy commander behind their lines, always know your way out. The enemy most likely will hear your shot and try to track you down. Often the seasoned sniper will employ along side of him another player to be his "spotter". The spotter helps in searching for enemy targets and to protect the sniper in a firefight.

With the right equipment and good stealth techniques, the Airsoft warrior who desires to be a sniper cannot not only be effective, he can be well on his way to being a "Super Sniper"!

Spring Airsoft Sniper Rifles - Everything You Need to Know

Spring Airsoft sniper rifles are the most elaborate form of spring guns. They easily shoot at velocities of 500 feet per second or more with some that boast over 700 fps. You definitely do not want to be on the receiving end of one of these bad boys. In fact, in Airsoft combat there are often rules that prohibit the firing of a spring sniper rifle at close range because it is dangerous and can cause serious damage to the mark. Instead, snipers are encouraged to use their secondary to get the kill or simulate a shot by yelling "bang".

Spring Airsoft snipers use the heaviest kinds of Airsoft BBs, starting from.30g all the way up to.43g. This is to help stabilize the BB in flight since it usually has to travel exceptionally long distances before hitting its target. A heavier BB is less affected by wind and will cause a lot more damage upon impact.

Spring Airsoft sniper rifles are the preferred choice for marksman roles in skirmishes and tournaments since they allow the operator to fire from a much further distance than assault rifles and pistols. You would often see snipers towards the back of the field hidden in small rooms or on top of buildings for a tactical advantage. Unlike electric guns, the spring sniper rifle is very quiet when fired which allows the operator to unload round after round without giving away his position.

Spring sniper rifles are the most commonly used form of spring guns in Airsoft combat, and although they cost more than their counterparts, they are most definitely worth the price. No other type of Airsoft gun comes close to the precision and strategic advantage that's offered by a spring Airsoft snipe rifle.

Do You Have What it Takes to Be an Airsoft Sniper?

Many airsoft players consider snipers to have one of the most sought after roles on the field. In an airsoft skirmish, the sniper plays an important role both in eliminating opponents and communicating important information to the team. If you are considering putting your skills to the test as an airsoft sniper, here are a few things to know:

Stealth is critical to success as a sniper. One of the airsoft sniper's main goals is to remain undetected and unharmed throughout a skirmish. A sniper must be able to remain very still for long periods of time waiting for the right moment to strike. At times, the sniper may need to move from location to location. Maneuvering through fields or wooded areas undetected requires the ability to crawl quietly across any terrain to avoid enemy fire. The ability to stay low to the ground and out of sight while changing locations is a skill that may take some practice.

Additional gear may be needed for optimal performance as a sniper. In addition to quality airsoft sniper rifles, many airsoft snipers purchase upgrades and gear specific to the sniper role on the field. Quality scopes, bipods and ghillie suits are common pieces of equipment used by airsoft snipers. A sidearm such as a pistol is also helpful for situations in which the sniper is spotted or ambushed by enemy fire and needs an automatic weapon for protection.

Airsoft snipers need a lot of patience. Often an airsoft sniper will lie still waiting for long periods of time without taking a shot. Snipers are not usually in the middle of the action, so that is something to consider in deciding if being a sniper is right for you.

Practice, practice, practice. The skills required to succeed as a sniper will take some practice. For one, a sniper should be comfortable and experienced with his or her rifle and understand its capabilities and limitations. Firing from too far away could cause you to miss the target and reveal your location, while firing from a distance too close can lead to injury. Accuracy at long distances is pivotal to a sniper's success. The ability to crawl quietly while staying low to the ground is another skill that may take some practice to perfect. Airsoft snipers must also learn to think ahead, keeping multiple escape routes in mind at any given time to avoid being trapped by opponents.

Taking accurate shots, maneuvering stealthily and establishing good communication skills with your teammates are critical in a skirmish, but can be practiced off the field as well. Honing your skills both on and off the field will help prepare you for success as an airsoft sniper.

How to be a Top Airsoft Sniper - One Shot, One Kill!

There are several crucial elements in becoming a top Airsoft sniper. Having the proper equipment is one of the most important but also having skills in camouflage, escape and evasion and target acquisition are even more crucial to winning skirmishes as an airsoft sniper. We will touch on some of the basics in the following article to help newbie airsoft gamers get a primer into the world of sniping.

As equipment goes, your first step will be to get a good rifle. A good Airsoft sniper rifle should have a muzzle velocity of at least 400fps. Any less than this and you won't have the firepower to make the long range kills, and your job as a sniper will be rendered useless in battle. There are lots of styles of sniper rifles but a spring rifle be the best choice, hopefully a bolt action as they will be the most consistent. An electric gun will tend to wear down the gearbox faster with a higher fps spring and are generally less accurate, a gas gun is fine, but you have to take into account cool-down effect and the effect of the temperature on the rate of expansion on the gas, that may therefore affect the fps, range and accuracy.

The next piece of equipment that is essential to becoming a proficient sniper is a high quality scope. Bushnell makes very good scopes. A 3-9x40 is a classic choice. Bipods are extremely helpful in assisting with accuracy in case you don't have a good location to brace your weapon with a pack or something similar. If you're already into the world of airsoft games you will most likely have a good set of camouflage fatigues, but as a sniper, you will need to get a ghillie suit. A ghillie suit allows you to place natural foliage, grass, branches, etc into the suit so you can blend into your surroundings. They can be purchased from they resources listed at the bottom of this article.

Other gear that you will need include a second sidearm, preferably a good quality airsoft pistol. Having a handgun will allow you to survive if ever you are spotted and cannot use your sniper rifle as protection. Binoculars, radio system, body armour, high quality ammunition are some of the other essentials to your sniper kit. Learn how to use it all so you won't be at a disadvantage when you're in battle.

If you're going to be on long creeps, for hours at a time, include food and water in your pack, but don't leave any evidence such as wrappers or bottles on the field. Nothing will give you away easier than your old trash that you forgot to pack. You must learn the art of stealth. Move slow be sure to watch the enemy. This is the most important step! You must take the time to study your environment. Instead of seeing things as trees or bushes, think of them as a good hiding place or a fallback point. Become comfortable in all situations and weather conditions. You must know how to snipe in woods and open fields, hills and trees. Also, become familiar with changing you ghillie suit to adapt to terrain.

While airsofting, stay low and move slow is the sniper motto. Set up an ambush or pick off advancing enemies. The best position for a sniper is prone which keeps you hidden the most, however crouching is an alternative in very dense areas. Standing up is when you are a more obvious target. Don't reveal your whole silhouette, profiles are harder to see. Always have an escape route planned ahead of time, so you can get away if by chance you are spotted.

This should give you a good start on becoming a top airsoft sniper. The best thing you can do is practice these skills when you're not in a real battle, so you're ready for the next real skirmish you're invited to join. With a little practice, you'll be making kills from long ranges, and have the opposition wondering how they just got shot.

Comparing Airsoft Sniper Rifles

If you want to get an airsoft sniper rifle, it is advisable that you do not immediately purchase the first one you come across. Instead, you should look at all of your options, and after you are familiar with the choices you have, you can then make a decision and complete the purchase. In this article, I will go over some of the types of sniper rifles and what they are good for.

Unlike other airsoft guns, most sniper rifles are only spring and gas. This is because electricity does not provide enough power for a high quality sniper, although there are some out there. I have personally gone up against an electric sniper rifle, and I can say that it is not that good. If you are going to get something, you might as well purchase one that is more effective, and in this case, that means it has to be spring or gas.

As you probably know, all kinds of spring airsoft guns need to be cocked before each shot. This usually gets annoying for other types of rifles, as well as pistols, but it feels more natural on a sniper because those are one-shot in real life. In addition, cocking it each time enables you to get more power than you would be able to otherwise.

However, the best kind of gun is a gas sniper rifle. This is because they are both automatic and more powerful than a spring rifle. When combined with a scope, this kind of gun is almost unstoppable. You can fire accurately multiple times a second, and if you are accurate enough, nobody will be able to escape. That is why gas airsoft sniper rifles are great buys, and with a little practice, you can become proficient with it.

Of course, the better a gun is, the more expensive it is. You could save a lot of money by purchasing a spring sniper rifle, but if you "spring" for the gas one instead, you will have a lot more fun and success in all the airsoft games you play.

Airsoft Sniper Tips

The sniper role is easily one of the most coveted roles on the airsoft field. An effective sniper is highly valued because they not only actively eliminate opponents, but they also act as a communication hub for the team.

If you are interested in transitioning into the sniper role in upcoming skirmishes, here are a few tips to help you succeed on the battlefield.

Be stealthy.

Cunning is one of the most important qualities a sniper can have... maybe even more valuable than shot accuracy. Stealth alone can make a sniper a success. A stealthy sniper understands how to position themselves so that they can observe the field without being seen and how to keep their movements slight. They are adept to traversing the environment undetected - be it wooded or field. They also understand how to retreat from a compromised position efficiently, in near silence.

Be disciplined & patient.

As a sniper, you risk discovery whenever you take a shot. For this reason, you must ensure that the shot you are taking is worth the risk. Is the target within range? Is it attainable at your skill level? If you are fairly confident the odds are against you, it is better to lay low and remain undetected. In fact, many real-life snipers stalk a target for days before making a kill shot. Patience and discipline are key... and only shoot when the target is attainable and worth the risk.

Be decisive.

Ironically, even though patience and discipline are paramount to sniping success, you are also required to take decisive action when the time is right. The opportunity to take your kill shot may only last a few seconds, so you must calmly take action... line up the shot, and pull the trigger.

Be a partner.

In many cases, having a spotter or second shooter will help keep you alert at all moments and will increase the likelihood of a decisive kill. It is difficult to use binoculars or airsoft rifle scopes or optics for more than 20 minutes at a time and having a skilled partner will allow you to break up the task and increase efficiencies.

Be chill.

The sniper role is not a good fit for people with hot tempers. If you are quick to anger, it is likely you will make irrational or careless choices. Anger elevates the pulse, quickening the heartbeat, and resulting in fight or flight behavior. This is the exact opposite of what makes a good sniper. A good sniper is level headed, patient, calm and able to make rational choices - even under stress.

Be your sniper rifle.

Ideally a sniper's rifle is second nature, but this will take time and practice. Use your airsoft sniper rifle as much as possible. Get an in-depth understanding of the rifle's dimensions, capabilities and limitations. Target practice is critical. Practice firing low on the ground and in hiding. Work on long distance accuracy and maneuvering your rifle in silence.

A successful sniper needs to be stealthy, even tempered, patient, disciplined, decisive and accurate. Taking accurate shots, maneuvering stealthily and partnering with a skilled spotter or fellow sniper will help set the stage for success as an airsoft sniper.

Airsoft Sniper Rifles - Spring Vs Gas

Many people often wonder what the differences are between gas airsoft sniper rifles and spring airsoft rifles. Besides the obvious fact that one is powered by a spring, and one is powered by gas, there are actually some other important factors as well. But above all else, it is fair to say that the biggest difference between gas and spring powered airsoft rifles is usually the price. For example, a good spring airsoft sniper guns usually costs about $100 - $125, while a good gas airsoft guns generally costs about $175 or more in most cases.

Also, another important thing to consider about gas airsoft guns is the fact that they almost always shoot at a higher velocity than a spring airsoft sniper rifle. Generally the higher end spring airsoft sniper rifles shoot at around 450 FPS, while the gas airsoft rifles usually shoot at 500 to 550 FPS. It is also worth noting that a bolt action gas airsoft gun is much easier to cock than a spring powered rifle; this is because with a gas airsoft gun there is no heavy duty spring to cock back for each shot. You still have to pull back the bolt with a gas powered rifle, but it is much easier to operate.

Another very important thing to consider is the fact that all spring rifles are single shot only, meaning that they have to be cocked for each and every shot, while a gas powered airsoft sniper rifle can be semi automatic. However, many of the gas sniper rifles are still made as single shot bolt action rifles, which makes them much more realistic. And again, the single shot gas powered airsoft rifles are much easier to cock than the spring airsoft rifles. This may not seem very significant, but it can definitely make a difference in airsoft games where you end up doing a lot of shooting. You would not want your arm to become tired during an airsoft battle!

As far as accuracy goes, most people will agree that the accuracy of a spring airsoft rifle is pretty much the same as gas airsoft sniper rifles, but there may be a few that disagree. There isn't much evidence to really support any differences in accuracy between the 2 types of airsoft rifles, but it is safe to say that you should most likely be using slightly heavier airsoft BBs with a gas powered airsoft sniper rifle, due to the fact that they usually shoot at a significantly higher FPS than the spring powered airsoft rifles. The faster an airsoft gun shoots, the heavier the BB you will want to use, to achieve maximum accuracy. This is especially true at longer distances.

Conclusion? If you have the extra money you may want to consider a gas airsoft sniper rifle, as they shoot a bit faster than the spring airsoft sniper rifles, and are easier to cock as well. However, the spring airsoft rifles are certainly an excellent choice if you don't want to spend the extra money, and it is arguable that they are a bit more durable than the gas airsoft rifles. Also, if you want a semi automatic airsoft rifle, then spring airsoft sniper rifles are not for you, as they are single shot only.

The First Fundamental of Marksmanship For the Airsoft Sniper (Part 1 of 4)

A lot of airsoft snipers face a significant barrier to their ability to fulfill their position as a precision marksman because they bring with them a whole host of bad habits that have been established while engaging in skirmishes as the member of a squad wielding assault-style AEGs.

Unlike those who join the military, there is no barrier to entry and no basic marksmanship training required before getting involved in airsoft. Getting started is pretty much as easy as buying a gun and showing up at an event. Load gun, point, shoot, done.

Unfortunately, this translates into an entire group of players that lack a basic understanding of the fundamentals of marksmanship and how to employ them. Now this may not seem like such a big issue in a squad-type setting with close up engagements being the norm where simply sending enough shots toward your target fast enough may be the major determining factor, but this is not the case once a player buys an airsoft sniper rifle and starts to take up long-range firing positions.

If a player finds himself on terrain that requires constant movement between concealment points, then the exertion of getting from place to place along with getting into a sometimes unfamiliar position can often make aiming a very difficult proposition when the crosshairs are bobbling all over like sugar-high kid in a moon-walk.

Other than working hard to maintain a high level of fitness, the only thing that can help overcome these obstacles so that a player can properly fill the role of an airsoft sniper is mastering the Fundamentals of Airsoft Marksmanship. These four principles will enable any sniper who is struggling to accurately place shots with his or her new airsoft sniper rifle to be able to quickly improve accuracy and become the most feared operator on your team.

In this four-part series, we'll outline what these four principles of marksmanship for the airsoft sniper are, and how you can employ them yourself. Here's the first one:

Aiming - the first thing that needs to be taken seriously when using an airsoft sniper rifle is to understand basic aiming techniques. Point, shoot, fire is the oversimplified version that many shooters take when in fact aiming is composed of two major elements. Sight alignment and sight picture.

Sight alignment is making sure that your rear sight is properly aligned with your front sight to ensure that your rifle is pointing in the direction that you THINK it is. Sight picture boils down to properly placing your sights on your target.

When shooting with a rifle that doesn't have a scope, paying close attention to both sight alignment and sight picture are essentially important.

Sighting in with a scoped sniper rifle however, is a different experience from aiming with a non-scoped gun. Sight alignment is not as much of an issue as the scope itself compensates for the proper & straight alignment of the rifle. It is important to know exactly how your scope works, and follow the instructions to properly zero it in well before showing up at the safe zone of any competition.

If your airsoft sniper rifle did not come with a scope, then it's HIGHLY advisable that you do your best to get one ASAP. With few exceptions all of these guns do not come equipped to properly aim without a scope. Trying to operate as a airsoft sniper without a scope is a lot like building the fastest NASCAR ever but then failing to budget for some good racing fuel...the thing is just not going to work right.

Your scope will come with instructions on how to properly zero it in so that your shots actually end up where you aim. If no instructions are provided, you can find various guides simply by searching the internet.

Once your airsoft sniper rifle and scope are zeroed and ready to go, aiming is as simple as setting your sights on your target and squeezing the trigger. Both sight alignment and sight picture should naturally fall into place.

13 Steps to Be an Expert Airsoft Sniper

A sniper is an infantry soldier who specializes in shooting from a concealed position over longer ranges than regular infantry, often with a specially designed or adapted sniper rifle. It requires skill in marksmanship, camouflage and field craft. This article is about adapting sniper techniques to make you the best airsoft sniper you can be!

1. Side arms are very important to any airsoft sniper and do not require a very substantial investment. An airsoft pistol is the perfect side arm when you get into a cornered up situation. You are in a lot of trouble if your position is compromised and you get charged by the enemy with nothing to defend you but your airsoft sniper rifle. While spring is better for a sniper rifle a side arm should be at least semi-auto. One thing to remember is to bring an adequate amount of ammunition for your side arm as well as your rifle (Usually 2-3 magazines depending on magazine capacity, especially if it is semi or fully automatic).

2. Know your rifle. Spend a good amount of time getting to know your gun, and how the shots react to wind, temperature, and different distances (make sure to understand it's maximum accurate distance). Take a while to get to know your gun and make sure to practice to stay comfortable with it.

3. Know that being an airsoft sniper is not as much action as other positions of the field. A common misconception is that airsoft snipers get the most kills, when in reality, they usually get the least. Keep in mind that you might not be racking up the kills, but you can take out important targets (take out high priority targets such as Commanders, VIPs, etc.). Know that observation and sabotage are some of an airsoft snipers main goals in the field.

4. Modify your rifle to fit your needs. There are tons of aftermarket parts for airsoft sniper rifles. The main things a sniper should consider are purchasing quality BBs (More information on selecting the right BB for your airsoft sniper), a tight bore (around 6.01), and usually a new hopup. These will ensure tight compression and maximize distance and accuracy.

5. A good scope can be a snipers best friend. Make sure you get a scope that suits your rifles needs. You don't need a hugely powerful scope for an airsoft sniper. A 3-9x40 scope is plenty of scope another good coice is a 4x32 scope (try to get a scope with adjustable parallax). Bipods are extremely helpful in assisting with accuracy and also they are great for sustaining a stable shooting position for long amounts of time. You should also learn to make rests in the field from branches, sticks and other natural features.

6. Camo is important, without it you will not be able to conceal yourself from enemies and opposing snipers nearly as effectively. A gillie suit is a great form of camo that is textured to help you blend in even further. In making a gillie suit use generic colors, brown, lighter brown, greens, and even some blacks and dark greens and browns. Wearing a light mesh top layer is great in helping you create camo as you can utilize a good variety of the sticks, leaves, and dirt from the field to make a very effective gille adapting your camo to your surroundings.

7. Buy some good ammunition. High polish BBs are important to an airsoft sniper to prevent damage as well as improve accuracy. Higher weight equals higher accuracy and lower FPS, but heavier BB's carry more kinetic energy for longer distances, check out our article on selecting the right BB for an airsoft sniper.

8. If you have the opportunity before the game to check out the field make sure to do so, the more you know about the field the more of an advantage you have. Make mental notes of good sniping positions, good observation points, where trails lead, when you will have open shots, and well covered areas for a retreat.

9. Stay low. Prone is going to be the best position for an airsoft sniper as it conceals most of your body and you blend into the surroundings better as a more natural shape.

10. Always have an escape route. Good cover and an escape route is more important than field of vision. When you find a good field position make sure to have at least two routes of escape.

11. Keep on the move. Staying stagnant will ruin your cover. Take one or two shots and then move on. Even if you don't think your position has been compromised, it may very well have been. Remember that you have a limited amount of shots you can take before you are compromised, make them count. Use surprise as best you can, move about a lot and attack from many different angles not to let them rest easy.

12. Recruit a spotter. Not only can he help you in a firefight, he can also help you spot possible targets. Weigh your options here as tt is easier for one person to move unnoticed than two, but considering your competition and terrain you should be able to make the right choice.

13. Find a way to communicate with your team, especially if you are working with another team of snipers. Whether you run radios or if you create signals based on showing colors find something that works for you. You are part of a team and part of your job as a sniper is recon.

Choices of an Airsoft Sniper Part 2 of 2

In part one I covered some areas like; Should I buy a bolt action or a semi-auto or what style of rifle? These are really personal issues, so only you can decide. What is the best scope? Maybe it should be how much of a good scope can you afford? Scopes like guns are not cheap, but they last a long time. So buy the best that you can afford.

A ghillie suit, is it needed? Well my opinion is no. Now if you want to get into the sniper thing 100% okay, be my guest. Just remember the snipers that really use them are usually by themselves and moving very slowly behind enemy lines. Airsoft is a quicker scenario than that. I would opt for camos, a gun wrap, and floppy cam hat and of course a camo head wrap. As to the amount of gear that you carry is up to you. This way you can move as the team moves and still be almost invisible. Of course you need to make sure you have the right colors or you may be really visible.

Now when we come to accuracy in Airsoft weapons; is it the weapon or the shooter? We hit an area that has some limitations; not due to the shooter so much, however this can play a big role at times, but the weapon itself. Because of the variables in the quality of the BB's and the tolerances that the inner barrel has to be held to, it is hard to become super accurate at long distances. I will try to cover as many factors in the following paragraphs as possible.

Airsoft weapons in general are smooth bore guns, like shotguns, but only shooting one pellet at a time. Yes, I knew that you knew that. Some of the problem comes from the fact of the space between the BB and the inside of the barrel. This space allows the BB to kind of bounce around just a little in the barrel as it is being pushed out. The BB might have been bouncing up or down or even sideways, also it is spinning, which could be good or bad as it left the barrel. This of course means that it may not go where you expected it to go. A solution to this is to purchase a closer fitting barrel so the BB cannot move as much. If I were to buy a new inner barrel I would get one that had a clearance of 0.03. This seems to be about optimum. This will accomplish two things. First; the rifle will be more accurate and second, it will have more power because less air is escaping around the BB. More power means longer shots. Win win!

Now about this spinning of the BB thing; we want to make sure the BB is spinning in the right direction. So if you purchased a good sniper rifle it will have a good hop-up unit. This will allow you to adjust the spin so that it is in the right direction, therefore giving you better control of the BB and adding more distance and accuracy. Again Win win!

The sniper plays a big part in this thing of accuracy while trying to pick off the enemy. It's not quite the same for them as the grunt. Yes, the regular soldier has to aim properly in shooting but when you're spraying 5 or 10 BBs at a time you have quantity on you side. So if their breathing is wrong it isn't noticed. But with a sniper, if all is not done correctly, it could be a shot that missed the target. The same techniques that are employed with regular target shooting should be practiced here. Again it takes a special person to be a sniper.

Now I am presuming that you have spent the necessary time to sight in your rifle and scope. If not then you a lost before you even start. I am not going to cover that right now but will later on when I have more time to write.

Here are a few tips. Even if you know them some may not, so just read on. These are not any order, however if they are followed it will make a big difference in your shooting. I'm sure someone will say "come on this is Airsoft, what do you expect, perfection?" YES!

Breathing: It is one of the things that will throw off a shot. As you get ready to shoot, make sure you take a couple of good breaths and as you let out the second one hold it as you sight in your target. If you are not able to get the shot off, then start again. This control will help keep the rifle steady.
Trigger control: I have seen more than a couple of snipers trying to yank the trigger out of the stock. As with all firearms a steady pull is one answer to accurate shooting. A steady pull with carry through will accomplish a lot.
Lets not forget that a good solid support is needed. Now I am not saying that you have to use the tri-pod on your gun, just that it needs to be steady and not rocking around. Could you imagine a marine sniper letting his/her 50 Cal. move while shooting? The shot could go anywhere at the range they shoot.
One last pointer: Practice, practice, and practice. Practice does help to make you an outstanding sniper.

BB's. This alone is worth a lengthy discussion. In reading forums and letters to magazines this come up frequently. Aren't all BB's the same, NO! That would be like saying all pizza is the same? Not so! Rather than telling you about bad BBs I will only tell you about the best BBs. They are polished so that there is no seam. They are manufactured to higher standards and closer tolerances. Quality BBs will travel straighter and not jam in you gun, normally.

One other tip I would like to pass onto all of you, sniper or not. I know that the norm for almost all players is to use white BBs. I would like to suggest for the sniper in you squad that they use black BBs. They are harder to see coming and they do not leave a white line pointing back to your position as they fly through the air.

Okay sniper's you have my input, again hope some of this is of use to you. Pass the good stuff onto others so they can benefit. Enjoy your time in the field and be safe.

The Art of Being An Airsoft Sniper Part I

As the sport of Airsoft continues its surge in worldwide popularity, the number of Airsoft teams and clubs continue to climb as well. These dedicated groups gather as weekend warriors at outdoor venues to participate in sophisticated war games. Dressed in military like fatigues, and armed with replica Airsoft guns, these teams engage in simulated military battles commonly referred to as the Mil-Sim (military simulation).

Of all the role players one can choose to be in these weekend battles, perhaps the most popular of all is the "Sniper". The Airsoft Sniper is often referred to as the Lone Wolf or Rouge of Airsoft. This is the gamer that wants to place himself in the perfect hidden location in order to eliminate the opposing players in a deadly ambush. Although a popular identity among Airsoft warriors, few players have mastered the skill of becoming a feared and effective "Super Sniper".

The first step in becoming a successful Super Sniper begins with having the right equipment! This begins by choosing the Sniper's most important accessory-the sniper rifle. The goal of the Sniper is to be able to shoot the enemy from long distances, therefore his rifle does not need to be fully automatic or even semi-automatic. A well built spring-action rifle is usually the choice. The spring sniper rifle must be one of the more powerful models in order to shoot from long distances with great accuracy. It is also important to keep in mind that the most powerful weapon the Sniper has is his stealth or the ability to stay hidden. The spring action sniper rifles are much quieter than the electric automatic rifles.

One of the most recommended spring sniper rifles is the Super 9 Bolt Action Airsoft sniper rifle. This great Airsoft gun is made by UHC, which is widely recognized as one of the premier manufacturers of spring guns.

Perhaps the next most important piece of equipment for the secretive Super Sniper is his riflescope. The ability to see long distances with accuracy is critical to his success. Often the original equipment scope does not fulfill this requirement and an upgrade is needed. A minimum 4x32 power scope is the desired measure.

The successful Sniper has also mastered the art of military camouflage. Without proper clothing the Sniper is doomed to failure. It is essential for him to be undetected by the opposing teams. Investing in a "ghillie" or camouflage suit is critical to maximum concealment from enemy patrols and other snipers. This suit is made from a central binding layer and loose strips of material designed to break up the shape of the human body. Super Snipers typically customize their suits by adding plant-matter or rolling in the dirt or mud in order to deaden color contrasts. With the potential for wearing this suit a long time during battles, comfort is a premium.

One of the great mistakes of the amateur sniper is running out of ammunition. As simple as this may seem, this is a common mishap due to the underestimated length of many Airsoft skirmishes. Many a sniper meets his demise as he emerges prematurely from his secret hideout at the most inopportune time in order to retrieve more pellets. You will always find the wise Super Sniper well stocked with plenty of ammo!

Understanding the role and choosing the right equipment will help the Airsoft warrior to be well on his way to becoming a Super Sniper.

Do Airsoft Sniper Rifles Cause Injury?

Most people seem to think that airsoft rifles (especially airsoft sniper rifles) can be dangerous or can cause harm. While it may sting quite a bit to get hit by a plastic airsoft BB, it certainly does not cause injury, except maybe in extremely rare cases. Plastic airsoft BBs simply do not have enough weight to penetrate into your skin; this is why it is just as safe a sport as paintball. The only difference between airsoft and paintball is that you can only feel the BB hit you, but you cannot actually see any mark where it hits. Basically it is fine to get shot anywhere but in the eyes when playing airsoft, and even you did get shot in the eye, it is highly unlikely that it would cause an actual injury (but in some cases it may be possible).

While airsoft is certainly a safe (and fun) sport to play, you still will want to wear the proper gear. Basically the only thing that is really mandatory is proper eye protection. Airsoft vests can also be worn, but they do not really protect you from injury, they just make it hurt a bit less when you get shot in the chest or back. Also, you can get a full mask for airsoft games, but it is not necessary, and it can actually make it quite a bit harder to see (and to aim your gun). Lastly, players that use airsoft sniper rifles usually like to take on the sniper role, and sometimes choose to wear full camo outwear (however, this is not typically considered to be protective gear).

Much like many other outdoor activities, the majority of injuries that come form playing airsoft are not even related to getting shot by an airsoft rifle. In fact, it is usually the terrain that leads to someone getting hurt while playing airsoft. For example, when playing airsoft outdoors, there are usually many various obstacles, such as rocks, trees, hills, slippery ground, and so on. While the odds of getting inured from an airsoft pellet are slim to none, it is not uncommon to see someone take a bad fall and scrape themselves up a bit, or possibly worse. But his has nothing to do with the airsoft guns; this sort of things could happen in ANY outdoor situation.

Hopefully this article helps to clear up the confusion a little bit when it comes to airsoft rifles and kids getting hurt playing airsoft. It seems that a lot of mothers out there get very worried when their son asks for an airsoft gun for his birthday. However, what people need to realize is that statistically, it is hardly ever the guns that end up injuring someone, it is simple the outdoor terrain that the airsoft game is played on. And when yo u think about it that way, it is just as easy to get hurt while hiking or mountain biking, among other things. Bottom line? Plastic airsoft pellets are never going to be much of a risk to anyone. However, as with almost any outdoor activity, rocks, hills, and slippery ground will always be a threat to your safety.

The article that you just read was brought to you by Matthew Betourney. Matthew has owned a good deal of airsoft rifles, and he even runs his own online shop, which deals mostly in high end airsoft sniper rifles (and a few good AEG guns as well).

Airsoft Sniper Rifles Are Popular For a Reason

Imagine yourself overlooking the field of play, hidden out of sight from the other team. You can see everyone, yet nobody can see you. You choose your target from the many oblivious players running around. You zero in and gently pull the trigger of your airsoft sniper rifle. You hear a quiet 'Pfff' as the BB leaves the barrel and you hit your target. He looks around wondering what just happened as he walks off the field in disbelief. You can not help cracking a little smile as you choose your next target.

That is the game for many players who own one of the several airsoft sniper rifles available. They have a good range and many fire at more than 450 fps. You can choose to use your own vision, use a scope, or even laser sighting to find your mark.

Airsoft sniper rifles can be electric, gas, or spring loaded. The prices vary depending on the type, but if you are looking for a cheap airsoft rifle that is still high quality, then you would want to go with an airsoft spring rifle. There are many models under $100 that are both durable and accurate. The spring powered guns are often lighter than their electric counter-parts and cost much less.

Another benefit of a sniper airsoft rifle is the distance it can cover. Many airsoft guns can only fire around 350 fps, but since the airsoft rifle can fire at 450+ fps the shooter can be farther away from its target than the other players with lesser guns.

There is a trade off for distance. You can shoot farther targets, but the airsoft sniper rifle is often a single shot bolt action rifle meaning you get one shot and then load the next shot. You lose a few seconds between shots which can cost you if you miss or are under attack from multiple targets. There are many guns that can shoot 850 rounds per minute or more, but they don't have the distance or accuracy of a sniper rifle.

If you are debating about which gun to get, choose from the airsoft sniper rifles and you will not be disappointed.

Does the Quality of Airsoft Sniper Rifles and AEG's Even Matter?

Certainly many guys that play the sport of Airsoft wonder if the quality of the Airsoft sniper rifles or electric guns even matters much when it comes to performance and reliability. Considering how much the price of electric and spring guns can vary (depending on brand) you certainly have to wonder if other players with higher end guns have the advantage over players with lower end guns. Basically a person's skill is certainly much more important than the quality of their gun in most situations.

Before we get into more detail lets take a look at why some of the Airsoft sniper rifles and electric guns can have such different price tags based on what brand they are. Basically almost all of the cheap electric or spring guns are created in China which means that they are generally made using cheaper parts but as a result cost much less. Then there are the medium grade electric and spring guns that are built in the USA but most of their parts come from China. The most expensive of the electric and spring Airsoft guns are always created in Japan which is actually where all the Airsoft guns were first created.

Again the quality of the electric Airsoft guns does not matter very much but rather the skill of the Airsoft player in almost any situation. For example most people that use Airsoft sniper rifles rely on stealth and good aim in order to win games. Most people that use automatic electric guns rely on surprising other players and shooting them before they have a chance to even react. Surely you can see why the quality of the electric or spring gun does not matter one bit if you rely on strategy.

Certainly more expensive Airsoft guns are great plus they generally shoot faster and more accurate than cheaper guns but a person's skill is what really counts. However the better electric guns and Airsoft sniper rifles usually shoot much faster compared to lower end guns. Most players just like to use cheap low end guns most of the time considering that strategy and skill plays the biggest role.

Airsoft Sniper Rifles - An Overview of Sniper Rifles For Airsoft Competitions

There are a number of different types of airsoft guns that you have to choose from, but no collection is truly complete without one of the airsoft sniper rifles that are available. As a matter of fact, you may find that you are called on for your services in a skirmish whenever you have one of these airsoft sniper rifles and it can be a lot of fun to be out of the action, yet firing in on occasion in order to save the day. There are some options that are available whenever choosing one of these weapons, however, that you may want to consider.

Perhaps one of the most important options to choose is to make sure that the action which powers the airsoft sniper rifles is going to be reliable. Most of them are going to be either gas or electric, but you also may be interested in trying one of the spring-loaded varieties, as they can be quite accurate and powerful. The real problem with going with a spring-loaded weapon is that the rate of fire will be lower then a electric or automatic gas model. It is really going to be up to you, however, and you will need to be comfortable with whatever weapon you choose.

Another consideration is the velocity that is available with these specialized weapons. Most competitions will limit you to a maximum of 350 ft./s, but a these weapons often end up firing at 400-500 ft./s. The real difference is the fact that you are going to be shooting over a longer distance and by the time the projectile reaches its target, it is not going to do any more damage than a slower moving projectile. Unfortunately, most competitions are going to ban the use of these higher powered models because of liability and the possibility of somebody getting injured.

Other options that are available on these airsoft sniper rifles include such things as scopes, bipods and the type of stock that is available, whether it is open or full. The majority of these are going to be personal decisions that will be according to your own likes and dislikes. It is a good idea for you to take a look at the different options that are available to you, and you choose one that will be something that you can carry onto the field with pride.

What Are Airsoft Snipers?

Most people know generally what a sniper is, but just what is an Airsoft Sniper? To answer that question we need to explore more about this recreational activity.

Originating in 1980's Japan where it was illegal for private individuals to own real live firearms this low velocity replica firearm system allowed people to own guns that looks and felt like the real thing, but that are, thankfully, far less deadly.

It took off like wildfire in neighboring countries where firearms laws also prevented civilians owning their own weapons, and this was the closest they could come to doing so.

Airsoft, as a hobby, is a recreational activity much like paintball. Combatants team up and recreate military style encounters, skirmishes, and missions, but unlike paintball where the ammunition is a small ball of paint, in Airsoft the ammunition is small round non-metallic pellets, shot with highly accurate replica weapons.

Replica Weapons

Airsoft guns come in all shapes and sizes from the sidearm to the gatling-style minigun. A whole range of quality replica pistols, rifles and even automatic guns are available. One such category of weapons is the sniper rifle, which brings us nicely to just exactly what is an Airsoft Sniper?

The Airsoft Sniper

While some people enjoy close quarters live war gaming, others prefer the role of a sniper - moving silently, hiding at long range, and waiting for your target to show up... then bang! One well aimed shot to take them down.

Typically, regardless of role, most enthusiasts like to mimic actual military look and equipment to as close as possible to battlefront setup as possible. Airsoft isn't just an occasional half-hearted hobby, for most players it's a matter of pride to be as realistic as possible.

While the games and teams attempt to stay as realistic as possible, unlike with Paintball, it's very hard to show a clean hit if the victim isn't honest. The bb ammunition bounces off and doesn't leave any marks - so there is a high amount of honesty required - which is especially important for a sniping game.

Dragunov Sniper Rifles

While there are many different Airsoft Sniper rifles available one of the most popular brands is based on the Russian Dragunov sniper rifles, the original of which was designed and created by Yevgeny Fyodorovich Dragunov.

The Classic Army Dragunov SVD AEG is one of the best sniper rifle replicas available, and is a favorite amongst the most dedicated Airsoft sniper enthusiasts.

Airsoft is one of those hobbies where the equipment can make as much of a difference as the player can. If you are serious about becoming a top class Airsoft Sniper, I highly suggest you research and get the right sniper rifle.

How Airsoft Sniper Rifle Hop Ups Works

All most every Airsoft player knows about hop-ups but there are a few players that don't. If you have no idea what a hop-up is then here a simple definition. Hop-up is basically the velocity of an airsoft BB when it's fired from an airsoft rifle. When an airsoft sniper rifle has an adjustable hop-up, that means you can adjust the speed or increase the speed of the BB firing from the rifle. Hop-up is also the theory of backspin, in which it usually spin in a up and backward direction. This is cause by the BB grinding along the top of the inside of the sniper rifles barrel. This grinding of the BB causes friction and gives it a spin, that spin offsets things such as gravity and air resistance, allowing the BB to travel further.

These hop-up devices are used on airsoft sniper rifles to apply more backspin to the BB. As stated earlier, the backspin allows the BB to fly farther and stay in the air longer. There a also other things to consider like for instance the wind and throw the trajectory of the BB off to the right or left depending on how strong the breeze is. There are certain hop-ups to help counter this affect on the BB and some hop-up are made especially for certain size BB to provide the best results.

If I told you the Bernoulli's Principle is related to using hop-up would you believe me? Well if you have no idea what the Bernoulli's Principle is then in basic term it states that "an increase in velocity occurs simultaneously with the decrease of pressure or a change in the gravitational potential energy."

But how those this applies to Airsoft? Pressure is inversely proportional to velocity, in that lower pressure equals higher velocity. So in a spin-less BB being fired from a sniper rifle will have an equal pressure around the BB, but if a BB with a backspin creates a difference in pressure on the opposite sides of the BB and this difference in pressure makes the BB travel further.

So you can see, by adding an extra backspin to the BB, the accuracy of an airsoft rifle can be greatly increased. That is why it is wise to purchase an airsoft sniper rifle with an adjustable hop-up, so you have greater control over where your BB's end up or whom it hits. Having this extra range in your shot will greatly improve your kill ratio in an Airsoft game. Knowing how a hop-up works can give you greater confidence, since you understand how the hop-up upgrade and hop-up in general works.

Advanced Airsoft Sniper Rifles

Sniper rifles are some of the most respected products in the entire airsoft industry. They are sleek, beautiful, and overall very powerful. For a sniper rifle to be a sniper, it needs to have more power than a regular rifle, because pellets need to travel a greater range to hit the target than normal. It is also critical that even the most basic sniper rifle has a high level of accuracy, because range means nothing if your pellets are flying several yards to the left or right after each shot. Especially when you consider that you may only have one shot to take out a target, it is imperative that the shot counts and can actually hit.

Even though these capabilities are expected of any airsoft sniper rifle, it is also the case that companies are looking to take it even further with advanced sniper rifles. Given the rapid acceleration of technological change in the modern world, it is not surprising that forward-thinking firms are taking chances and introducing new, awesome products to the market place. What follows are a couple specific examples of the incredible feats of engineering that companies have achieved in order to help players take their game to the next level.

First, it is important to realize that in the airsoft world, making something look more real can be considered a benefit in itself. After all, the purpose of airsoft is to simulate military and police action as closely as possible (without anyone getting hurt, of course), and it is important for the airsoft guns themselves to look realistic. Many new sniper rifles, such as the AGM VSR Sniper Rifle, are made with real wood and metal, along with being designed in such a way to be as realistic as possible.

Of course what you may be most interested in are the enhancements which improve accuracy and range. These improvements are coming in the form of increasingly adjustable hop-up and electronic devices on the guns that allow you to alter FPS without needing to use an allen wrench. In addition, through the use of gas-powered sniper rifles, as opposed to spring or electric, you can attain amazing power. Always remember that when it comes to any type of airsoft gun, whether it is a standard rifle, pistol, or sniper, green gas will always get you the most power. And when this power is combined with innovations like the electronic screen, you gain an almost unfair advantage over your opponents.
