The Exciting Airsoft Sniper Rifle Part One

In the ever-growing worldwide popularity of the sport of Airsoft, no player has captured the imagination of war gamers more than the character known as the Airsoft "SNIPER".

Often referred to as the Lone Wolf or Rogue of Airsofting, the Sniper is the gamer who wants to set himself up in the perfect ambush position and than take out his opponents with long range speed and accuracy.

The weapon of choice for this exciting player is the popular Airsoft Sniper Rifle. Of all the available Airsoft guns, the Airsoft Sniper Rifle is best suited for this type of player. Big and somewhat cumbersome, the Airsoft Sniper Rifle is designed for long range shooting with high velocity. These Airsoft guns are capable of creating some of the highest pellet velocities in the entire industry. These rifles are also noted for delivering heightened accuracy. The Sniper Rifle has an average length of around 42 inches (1070mm), with a firing velocity that approaches roughly 390ft/sec. These guns are usually powered by a bolt-action spring instead of an electric motor or gas. This makes the rifle advantageous in combat due to the quietness of its firing mechanism as compared to the much louder discharge of other power sources. The quiet bolt-action spring allows the shooter the ability to surprise other players more easily.

Due to their large length, the Sniper Rifle functions more accurately when used in a stationary position, usually mounted on a bipod. Although big in size, they are primarily designed to be used by a gamer who is set up in one spot. Because of its hefty size, these Airsoft guns are difficult to wield in close quarter situations. To alleviate this problem some rifles come with folding or removable stocks.

Along with a bipod, other important accessories for the Lone Wolf Airsoft Sniper and his rifle would include a laser scope. The advanced laser scope gives the shooter his best chance for optimal long-range accuracy. Being on the move for better ambush locations often necessitates the need for a quality shoulder harness to help in transporting the rifle. A large hi-cap magazine that holds a minimum of thirty bbs is also a necessary ingredient in prolonging the battle life of the gallant Airsoft Sniper.

One of the more popular Airsoft Sniper Rifle model lines is the Super 9 series. Designed after the Belgian police rifle with the customary windows in the stock, the Super 9 series has an extremely realistic look. The Super 9 series Airsoft guns cost around 100 U.S. dollars without any upgrades. It is important to keep in mind from a cost perspective that in order for the Super 9 to be effective in a serious Airsoft war game such as the Mil-Sim, it will require a number of the significant upgrades already mentioned. This will also increase the financial investment.

There are many exciting types of Airsoft guns available to all Airssoft enthusiasts and veteran war game players. But to those gamers who prefer the sniper's thrill of stealth and surprise, no gun can match the exciting Airsoft Sniper Rifle.

Does the Quality of Airsoft Sniper Rifles and AEG's Even Matter?

Certainly many guys that play the sport of Airsoft wonder if the quality of the Airsoft sniper rifles or electric guns even matters much when it comes to performance and reliability. Considering how much the price of electric and spring guns can vary (depending on brand) you certainly have to wonder if other players with higher end guns have the advantage over players with lower end guns. Basically a person's skill is certainly much more important than the quality of their gun in most situations.

Before we get into more detail lets take a look at why some of the Airsoft sniper rifles and electric guns can have such different price tags based on what brand they are. Basically almost all of the cheap electric or spring guns are created in China which means that they are generally made using cheaper parts but as a result cost much less. Then there are the medium grade electric and spring guns that are built in the USA but most of their parts come from China. The most expensive of the electric and spring Airsoft guns are always created in Japan which is actually where all the Airsoft guns were first created.

Again the quality of the electric Airsoft guns does not matter very much but rather the skill of the Airsoft player in almost any situation. For example most people that use Airsoft sniper rifles rely on stealth and good aim in order to win games. Most people that use automatic electric guns rely on surprising other players and shooting them before they have a chance to even react. Surely you can see why the quality of the electric or spring gun does not matter one bit if you rely on strategy.

Certainly more expensive Airsoft guns are great plus they generally shoot faster and more accurate than cheaper guns but a person's skill is what really counts. However the better electric guns and Airsoft sniper rifles usually shoot much faster compared to lower end guns. Most players just like to use cheap low end guns most of the time considering that strategy and skill plays the biggest role.

The Second Fundamental of Marksmanship For the Airsoft Sniper (Part 2 of 4)

Once you have a proper grasp of how to Aim your airsoft sniper rifle properly, you can move on to the second fundamental of marksmanship for the airsoft sniper which is utilizing proper Breath Control.

When a player finds that they are not shooting as accurately with their new airsoft sniper rifle as they thought they would, they will often blame the gun itself.

Truth be told, the majority of the difficulty new snipers have is because of a lack of proper breath control. Either they are holding their breath while taking a shot or they are breathing WHILE they are shooting. Either one will wreak havoc on how accurate your fire is.

Airsoft is a recreational sport which means that it's comprised of many "weekend warriors" who often don't get a lot of exercise during the week. Being air dropped into a simulated combat environment from a life of ease, then running around dodging fire from the opposing team, and then being expected to quickly get into an often uncomfortable shooting position can bring on some VERY heavy breathing as well as a seriously elevated heart rate.

Once in the field you can't go back and put in extra time at the gym, but you CAN observe proper breath control. By controlling the rhythm of your breathing, you can actually control your heart rate and pulse which enables you to have more of a steady posture translating into more accurate shots.

The proper procedure is to sight in your airsoft sniper rifle on your intended target and then to inhale a normal breath. Don't do any deep breathing here because if your lungs are loaded with too much air it will cause your barrel to dip and throw off your alignment which will result in your shot going low.

After the inhale and with your crosshairs still placed firmly on your target, exhale HALF of that breath and make your final aiming adjustments before taking the shot.

By expelling HALF of your load of oxygen your body lines up properly and you are left with enough air in your lungs to enable you to hold your position while taking your shot.

The additional benefit is that your heart is often racing from moving across the field. Holding half a breath while taking your shot will leave your lungs charged with enough air to supply your bloodstream with the oxygen that it needs.

If you wait too long to take the shot because your target is constantly moving you'll find that your heart will begin to beat harder which will cause your scope's crosshairs to again vibrate with each heart beat.

Just take a new breath, expel half the breath again, and proceed to take aim and place your shot.

Simply following this one technique will solve a lot of the problems that often come up and you'll be pleasantly surprised that your airsoft sniper rifle is shooting on target every time.

Do You Have What it Takes to Be an Airsoft Sniper?

Many airsoft players consider snipers to have one of the most sought after roles on the field. In an airsoft skirmish, the sniper plays an important role both in eliminating opponents and communicating important information to the team. If you are considering putting your skills to the test as an airsoft sniper, here are a few things to know:

Stealth is critical to success as a sniper. One of the airsoft sniper's main goals is to remain undetected and unharmed throughout a skirmish. A sniper must be able to remain very still for long periods of time waiting for the right moment to strike. At times, the sniper may need to move from location to location. Maneuvering through fields or wooded areas undetected requires the ability to crawl quietly across any terrain to avoid enemy fire. The ability to stay low to the ground and out of sight while changing locations is a skill that may take some practice.

Additional gear may be needed for optimal performance as a sniper. In addition to quality airsoft sniper rifles, many airsoft snipers purchase upgrades and gear specific to the sniper role on the field. Quality scopes, bipods and ghillie suits are common pieces of equipment used by airsoft snipers. A sidearm such as a pistol is also helpful for situations in which the sniper is spotted or ambushed by enemy fire and needs an automatic weapon for protection.

Airsoft snipers need a lot of patience. Often an airsoft sniper will lie still waiting for long periods of time without taking a shot. Snipers are not usually in the middle of the action, so that is something to consider in deciding if being a sniper is right for you.

Practice, practice, practice. The skills required to succeed as a sniper will take some practice. For one, a sniper should be comfortable and experienced with his or her rifle and understand its capabilities and limitations. Firing from too far away could cause you to miss the target and reveal your location, while firing from a distance too close can lead to injury. Accuracy at long distances is pivotal to a sniper's success. The ability to crawl quietly while staying low to the ground is another skill that may take some practice to perfect. Airsoft snipers must also learn to think ahead, keeping multiple escape routes in mind at any given time to avoid being trapped by opponents.

Taking accurate shots, maneuvering stealthily and establishing good communication skills with your teammates are critical in a skirmish, but can be practiced off the field as well. Honing your skills both on and off the field will help prepare you for success as an airsoft sniper.

Airsoft Sniper Rifles - An Overview of Sniper Rifles For Airsoft Competitions

There are a number of different types of airsoft guns that you have to choose from, but no collection is truly complete without one of the airsoft sniper rifles that are available. As a matter of fact, you may find that you are called on for your services in a skirmish whenever you have one of these airsoft sniper rifles and it can be a lot of fun to be out of the action, yet firing in on occasion in order to save the day. There are some options that are available whenever choosing one of these weapons, however, that you may want to consider.

Perhaps one of the most important options to choose is to make sure that the action which powers the airsoft sniper rifles is going to be reliable. Most of them are going to be either gas or electric, but you also may be interested in trying one of the spring-loaded varieties, as they can be quite accurate and powerful. The real problem with going with a spring-loaded weapon is that the rate of fire will be lower then a electric or automatic gas model. It is really going to be up to you, however, and you will need to be comfortable with whatever weapon you choose.

Another consideration is the velocity that is available with these specialized weapons. Most competitions will limit you to a maximum of 350 ft./s, but a these weapons often end up firing at 400-500 ft./s. The real difference is the fact that you are going to be shooting over a longer distance and by the time the projectile reaches its target, it is not going to do any more damage than a slower moving projectile. Unfortunately, most competitions are going to ban the use of these higher powered models because of liability and the possibility of somebody getting injured.

Other options that are available on these airsoft sniper rifles include such things as scopes, bipods and the type of stock that is available, whether it is open or full. The majority of these are going to be personal decisions that will be according to your own likes and dislikes. It is a good idea for you to take a look at the different options that are available to you, and you choose one that will be something that you can carry onto the field with pride.

Airsoft Sniper Rifles - Spring Vs Gas

Many people often wonder what the differences are between gas airsoft sniper rifles and spring airsoft rifles. Besides the obvious fact that one is powered by a spring, and one is powered by gas, there are actually some other important factors as well. But above all else, it is fair to say that the biggest difference between gas and spring powered airsoft rifles is usually the price. For example, a good spring airsoft sniper guns usually costs about $100 - $125, while a good gas airsoft guns generally costs about $175 or more in most cases.

Also, another important thing to consider about gas airsoft guns is the fact that they almost always shoot at a higher velocity than a spring airsoft sniper rifle. Generally the higher end spring airsoft sniper rifles shoot at around 450 FPS, while the gas airsoft rifles usually shoot at 500 to 550 FPS. It is also worth noting that a bolt action gas airsoft gun is much easier to cock than a spring powered rifle; this is because with a gas airsoft gun there is no heavy duty spring to cock back for each shot. You still have to pull back the bolt with a gas powered rifle, but it is much easier to operate.

Another very important thing to consider is the fact that all spring rifles are single shot only, meaning that they have to be cocked for each and every shot, while a gas powered airsoft sniper rifle can be semi automatic. However, many of the gas sniper rifles are still made as single shot bolt action rifles, which makes them much more realistic. And again, the single shot gas powered airsoft rifles are much easier to cock than the spring airsoft rifles. This may not seem very significant, but it can definitely make a difference in airsoft games where you end up doing a lot of shooting. You would not want your arm to become tired during an airsoft battle!

As far as accuracy goes, most people will agree that the accuracy of a spring airsoft rifle is pretty much the same as gas airsoft sniper rifles, but there may be a few that disagree. There isn't much evidence to really support any differences in accuracy between the 2 types of airsoft rifles, but it is safe to say that you should most likely be using slightly heavier airsoft BBs with a gas powered airsoft sniper rifle, due to the fact that they usually shoot at a significantly higher FPS than the spring powered airsoft rifles. The faster an airsoft gun shoots, the heavier the BB you will want to use, to achieve maximum accuracy. This is especially true at longer distances.

Conclusion? If you have the extra money you may want to consider a gas airsoft sniper rifle, as they shoot a bit faster than the spring airsoft sniper rifles, and are easier to cock as well. However, the spring airsoft rifles are certainly an excellent choice if you don't want to spend the extra money, and it is arguable that they are a bit more durable than the gas airsoft rifles. Also, if you want a semi automatic airsoft rifle, then spring airsoft sniper rifles are not for you, as they are single shot only.

The 3 Types of Airsoft Snipers

There are three different types of airsoft sniper rifles and each one is played very differently! Depending on which one a sniper decides to use will alter the gameplay and tactics he uses!

First, we have the famous Spring Powered Rifle! This classic airsoft gun is used my airsofters around the world because of its reliability! For any sniper a Spring Rifle is a great choice for just grabbing your gun and going. These are used by both beginning airsoft snipers and advanced. To work a spring rifle it is most commonly operated with bolt-action and can sometimes require strength to pull back the spring, depending on its power. A great example of a typical spring sniper is the JG BAR 10. This gun helps teach you the basics of sniping, while providing the window of opportunity to go full-out and upgrade. In the end, this gun can be upgraded to shoot at about 600 fps with.36 gram BB's and reach ranges of 300ft.

Next, we will look at the ElectricRifle, like the M14 or M24. These snipers are powered by a battery inside of the gun and can normally be shot without having to pull a bolt back. Not only do these guns have a fairly large range, but they also come with the reliability of being sure you will pin someone down with a reign of BB's. The rate of fire can also be increased on these types of guns by replacing the battery! But, in the airsoft community, Electric Sniper Rifles can often be looked down upon, for not staying true to the sniper way of "one shot one kill". So be ready for a very different sniping experience when using this type of gun. Echo1 and Classic Army are great providers for airsoft Electric Rifles!

Lastly, we have the Gas Powered Rifle. When the term "gas" is used it generally means Green Gas, Propane, or CO2 is being used to power the gun! These should generally be used by advanced players because of the technical aspect of these guns. Gas guns are also VERY powerful, usually, and should be handled with great caution! The good thing about powering your gun with gas though, is that it can help in tactical situations, because gas is much quieter than Electric or Spring guns! Tanaka is a great brand to look into for this type of sniper!

Each of these different Airsoft Snipers have their own Pros and Cons, but in the end you will have to decide for yourself on how you want to snipe, in the world of airsoft!

Comparing Airsoft Sniper Rifles

If you want to get an airsoft sniper rifle, it is advisable that you do not immediately purchase the first one you come across. Instead, you should look at all of your options, and after you are familiar with the choices you have, you can then make a decision and complete the purchase. In this article, I will go over some of the types of sniper rifles and what they are good for.

Unlike other airsoft guns, most sniper rifles are only spring and gas. This is because electricity does not provide enough power for a high quality sniper, although there are some out there. I have personally gone up against an electric sniper rifle, and I can say that it is not that good. If you are going to get something, you might as well purchase one that is more effective, and in this case, that means it has to be spring or gas.

As you probably know, all kinds of spring airsoft guns need to be cocked before each shot. This usually gets annoying for other types of rifles, as well as pistols, but it feels more natural on a sniper because those are one-shot in real life. In addition, cocking it each time enables you to get more power than you would be able to otherwise.

However, the best kind of gun is a gas sniper rifle. This is because they are both automatic and more powerful than a spring rifle. When combined with a scope, this kind of gun is almost unstoppable. You can fire accurately multiple times a second, and if you are accurate enough, nobody will be able to escape. That is why gas airsoft sniper rifles are great buys, and with a little practice, you can become proficient with it.

Of course, the better a gun is, the more expensive it is. You could save a lot of money by purchasing a spring sniper rifle, but if you "spring" for the gas one instead, you will have a lot more fun and success in all the airsoft games you play.

Do you want to learn more about purchasing airsoft rifles? Then check out the author's website, which also features tons of information about those and gas airsoft pistols.

Airsoft Sniper Rifles - The Ultimate in Long Range Shooting

There is nothing like being concealed behind a barrier and surveying the battlefield knowing that with just one shot you can take out your opponent at a great distance. Your airsoft sniper rifle will allow you to dial in on your target and will keep you out of the range of enemy fire, unless of course, they have a sniper as well.

Airsoft sniper rifles are spring operated and use a bolt action to bring the next bb into the chamber. Upon firing, the bolt action must be operated to allow the gun to be fired again. Many sniper rifles available today are camouflage to conceal the weapon and the shooter from opponents vision.

The use of a quality scope will greatly improve the odds of a single shot hitting the target exactly where it was intended. Also, the utilization of a bipod will enhance the stability of the shooter, thus giving the sniper a solid platform to fire from.

Velocity of the ammunition from a sniper rifle will vary between models, but on average, expect a speed of around 450 feet per second. The use of competition grade bb's will greatly improve the accuracy and velocity of the gun.

Although the sniper will be at a longer distance from the main battle, it is recommended to carry, at a minimum, an airsoft pistol to fend off any opponents that may sneak up on the gunner. Or even better yet,  have a backup teammate with an airsoft fully automatic rifle to guard the sniper.

With the accuracy and long distance capability of airosft sniper rifles, it is no wonder that this is becoming one of the more sought after guns available to the airsoft enthusiast today.

How Airsoft Came to Be

Airsoft all started from the country of Japan. Japan allowed the ability to own Airsoft guns so the people can have a sense of owning a real gun. This is because the laws in Japan are so strict as far as firearms go, that it is near impossible for anyone there to ever own a real gun (especially a pistol).

To allow the people of Japan a sense of being able to hold a gun that felt real, airsoft guns were created. The airsoft guns were constructed as exact replicas of real guns, and were made as automatic electric airsoft guns, airsoft sniper rifles, and airsoft pistols.

It was perfectly legal to carry one of these airsoft rifles or pistol because they only fired non-lethal BB's. These airsoft gun could not fire any real rounds or even metal BB's, but don't get me wrong even the plastic BBs gives you a good sting.

Briefly after airsoft rifles came about in Japan, the real sport of airsoft began, which promptly became very popular in other countries, such as Europe, Great Britain, and then the United States, among other places.

The sport of Airsoft has become extremely popular with people of all ages, from ex-military to teenagers. There are many diverse types of airsoft games played, such as tactical military scenarios, free for all, group battles, and much more. There are way more games you can play during a Airsoft battle, the sky is the limit!

Besides, airsoft guns, especially the airsoft sniper rifles, are used for real military and police training purposes. Many of the popular airsoft rifles used for these intentions are the airsoft sniper rifles, 9mm airsoft pistol, the airsoft AK47 rifle and even the airsoft M4 rifle.

Diverse tactical gear is common in an Airsoft game. Some of the popular items and add-on used in airsoft are: camo face paint, protective airsoft vests, airsoft face masks, tactical throat mics, and more. The sky is pretty much the limit when it comes to airsoft gear.

In Conclusion, one of the greatest things about airsoft, is that it is such an fun sport to get into. Besides, the cost involved is more often than not much less than similar sports, such as paintball, for example. It's not hard to find a good airsoft sniper rifle for a very cheap price or reasonable price. Ammo and guns for Airsoft is cheaper compared to paintball, this is why I enjoy playing Airsoft more than paintball.

A good airsoft rifle is not hard to find, I just recently wrote a blog post at TopAirsoftSniperRifles.com on how to select a airsoft sniper rifle that is right for you. I've been playing Airsoft for over 3 years now and the one thing that I learn is that your airsoft gun is what completes you in becoming a excellent airsoft player.

Paintball Sniper Rifles - How Are They Different Than Any Other Paintball Gun?

What exactly is a paintball sniper rifle? Is it a completely different type of gun altogether? Not exactly. Although more and more specifically designed sniper rifles are on the market now, most sniper rifles are simply your standard paintball gun with or a "sniper kit" or "package" as they are called.

These kits or packages are are add on kits you can purchase for most guns that simply upgraded the gun you already have to a sniper level gun. This is done by adding a modified barrel, a scope, special handle, etc.

This is definitely the way to go if you have already invested in a great gun but also want the ability to convert it into a sniper rifle. Some paintball snipers can cost upwards of $2500-$3,000.

So how does a sniper rifle differ than a regular paintball rifle or paintball pistol? The biggest distinction is the barrel and how it is designed. A traditional gun will fire a paintball with an arched approach or a curved shot. Snipers are specifically designed to shoot a ball with maximum backspin thus forcing the trajectory of the ball to travel in a very straight line. This is crucial for those far away shots that require pin point accuracy. Not to mention this can up to 125 yards to the shooting distance compared to a traditional paintball gun.

So why not make every gun a Paintball Sniper rifle? Well there are some downsides. Just as with typical guns (real guns, not paintball guns) you can't exactly run around with a great big sniper rifle in hand trying to shoot people. They are used for precise single shot at a time uses. Load up, wait for the target to get in place, aim and shoot. Then repeat the process again on the next target. They are not designed for a rapid fire gun battle where you would need to quickly shoot multiple targets in a short period of time in the heat of battle.

Paintball Sniper can also refer to a person and not the gun. This person is usually a dedicated person on the paintball team who sits far off in the distance, hidden from the combat scene, lying in wait to take out a target at any time. This Paintball sniper must be very patient and will be forced to wait until the perfect moment to unleash a shot on an unexpected foe. This is very different than a person on a team that is running around, ducking behind trees and jumping into bunkers. It takes a special kind to be a paintball sniper.

Buying Airsoft Sniper Rifle Scopes

Most people associate sniper rifles with scopes, but a lot of airsoft snipers are sold without any such accessory. All that comes in the package is a high powered, accurate rifle, as well as smaller components and necessary things. Although this is the case, most people who buy a sniper rifle will add on a scope, because it increases the effectiveness of the product and makes the sniper rifle look and function more completely.

When thinking about what kind of scope you are going to get, the most important thing is to make sure that it is compatible with the rifle you are using. As long as it is compatible, you know you will at least be adding a little utility to your gun. However, the best course of action is to research all the options that you have, and pick the scope that matches your budget, needs, and requirements.

Some of the modern scopes that are sold nowadays have extra features on them, such as night vision abilities. Obviously, such a scope would be more expensive than one that could not do these things. However, if you actually do need a feature, like because you play in the dark a lot, then these extras can really mean a lot. More importantly, a lot of scopes have different levels of intensification and clarity, and if you can afford it, it is always good to go with the product that has a better quality. Do this, and you will have a lot of success as a sniper.
