Which Is a Better Airsoft Gun - Spring Or Electric?

The plain and simple answer to the spring or electric airsoft dilemma is: It Depends. It depends on many factors which you should consider when you are trying to select between the two main types of airsoft guns.

So which one is better airsoft gun?

First you have to decide for yourself what kind of gameplay do you like. Do you like to be in the center of the action, shooting hundreds of BBs all around the battle field? Or you like to be far far away at a safe place taking out your opponents one by one and see their surprised faces once they get hit from nowhere!

The automatic guns are most of the times electric. Thus if you like to be in the heart of the action you have to choose electric airsoft gun. It will deliver big shooting speed so you can eliminate many of your close-by opponents in no time. Some of the better airsoft gun products with battery can also shoot at long range distances and be somewhere accurate.

The downside of electric airsoft guns are a few but very important. They tend to empty their ammo clips very fast. This can leave you at that unpleasant spot when you are out of BBs and your opponents are all over you. Their long distance accuracy is not very good. AEGs are mainly made for close combat. One of the worst accidents you might experience is if you forget to charge your battery or it just runs out. Then your electric gun is only usable for a direct hit of your enemies, which in airsoft terms is way out of the allowed techniques. Electric airsoft guns also tend to get stuck more than the sniper airsoft rifles.

If you are a fan of long range accurate shots like me, then you have to choose spring powered airsoft weapon. There is no better amusement than seeing an enemy's surprised face when he gets "killed" while hiding or just regrouping. In every airsoft team there should be at least one sniper hitman to clear the way for a rush attack.

Of course this type of airsoft equipment have their cons. The main one is the slow rate of reloading. You will have to reload for each and every shot. This means manually cocking the spring. This takes time and is not useful for close combats at all. This is one of the main reasons I only recommend spring powered airsoft guns for the sniper rifles. As a sniper you can your backup pistol ready for the face to face encounters.

Whenever you decide between spring or electric airsoft gun make sure it is the better airsoft gun for your style of play.

And remember: players who choose airsoft sniper rifles should strongly consider bb gun pistols just in case the enemy pays them a close visit.
