Traditional Airsoft Sniper Rifles

Even for players who do not use airsoft sniper rifles, nearly everybody has a certain respect for the powerful sniper rifle. Not only is it very powerful, but the sniper rifle is sleek and aesthetically pleasing. There is also a sense of mystery associated with something that can take someone out from somewhere far away. In real life, some sniper rifles are capable of hitting targets with 100% accuracy from miles away. Of course airsoft has a much shorter range, about 300 to 500 feet, but that is still pretty good in the world of sporting.

There are many different kinds of sniper rifles in airsoft, and they can be categorized according under several criteria. One of those criteria is the material the airsoft rifle is made from. While a metal frame allows the highest level of durability and power, having something like wood enables you to be carrying less weight and have a more realistic appearance. Realism is something that is very important to many airsoft players, and one of the main factors that differentiates airsoft from its close relative paintball is the realism. With paintball, the guns are clearly not realistic because of the hoppers and CO2 tanks, and the overall appearance of the markers does not look like a real gun. On the other hand, all airsoft guns are designed to look realistic, but some moreso than others.

If you truly want to get a realistic looking sniper rifle, you should make sure that it has real wood and real metal in the right places. The best test is to compare the airsoft rifle you are looking at to a real rifle, and see how similar it is. Obviously the most notable difference will be the orange tip on the airsoft counterpart, but other than that, they should look pretty similar. If you can find an airsoft product that passes this test, you can be sure that you'll be taking home a very realistic airsoft sniper.

And just remember, you always want to avoid plastic if possible. While that is certainly the cheapest of all the potential materials, it is also the weakest and does not look very professional. If you want to save money, you should simply get a lower caliber metal or wood airsoft sniper rifle. In the end, that will end up performing much better than a more expensive plastic based rifle.
