Sniper Ghillie Suits

People who don't really understand war usually have misconceptions about sniper ghillie suits. Well we can't blame them, as ghillies truly look heavy, shabby and uncomfortable to wear, especially when you're carrying a loaded bag, and a rifle. But for those who truly understand the role of deadly snipers in the battlefield will not fail to recognize how blending with the surroundings and killing unsuspecting enemies can dictate the outcome of a war.

Whether you're a real life army sniper, hunter or avid paintball fan, you definitely can't go wrong with these suits. The idea is to go unnoticed as you move and find your spot in the battlefield.

Stealth and camouflage are just as crucial as good shooting to a sniper. A sniper ghillie suits needs to match its surroundings perfectly. Some scenarios and missions may require snipers to crawl to some nasty mud to help them blend right in.

The construction of these suits depends on its user's requirement. If your war zone is in the desert, then a dark forest ghillie is definitely not the thing to go for. In the military, materials and vegetation for ghillie suits are usually picked by the snipers themselves, as it comes from the present resources they have in the battlefield. On condition that it is a combination of present resources, it can take some time to finish a good suit. Depending on the type and look you want for your ghillie, it can take you hours, or even days to come up with a good suit that can camouflage perfectly. Also, you need to put on the same materials in your rifle, so it will blend in to the environment too. You don't want to wear a baggy camouflage suit only to be recognized by your enemies because of your long metal rifle.

While that may sound daunting for people not in the military, there are already tons of commercial and manufactured sniper ghillie suits in the market today. These things are usually tailor-made for war games, such as paintball and airsoft.

Whatever your purpose for getting a sniper ghillie suit, make sure you consider all the crucial factors in choosing your suit. The most important factor is its water protection. Your suit should have urethane protection in front to help you deal with water and other forms of moisture in the battlefield. This is important for you to feel more comfortable as you crawl and crouch in your position.

Also, your suit should have enough durable netting, so you can easily add more vegetation and fake foliage to your disguise.

Lastly, the materials of your sniper ghillie suit must be fire retardant. This will protect you from any form of heat and fire created by your own weapon. In most cases, snipers use Class A retardant materials as it can easily deal with brush fires.
