What to Do With Your Airsoft Guns

Perhaps you've recently bought a brand new airsoft gun. Fantastic! But have you given much thought as to what you could possibly use it for? If you haven't, you're missing out on quite a bit of fun surrounding airsoft. So consider for a moment just a few activities you can do with your airsoft guns.

Target Practice:

It's pretty standard, but target practice doesn't need to be just a simple backyard activity. The fun of target practice is that you can easily get by with a cheap, spring-loaded airsoft gun for play screwing around with Styrofoam plates and pop cans, but upgrading to a compressed gas or electric model will give you greater distance and accuracy, meaning you can really sink your teeth into some sharp-shooting. For those with a real love of target shooting, an airsoft sniper rifle may be the best item you could add.

Collecting:

One of the huge advantages airsoft guns have over paintball guns is the amount of detail and the staggering variety of replicated real world firearms. With paintball, you can find only a few different types, but with airsoft, you can actually actively collect then, much like you would with real guns, except with airsoft you don't have to risk keeping a loaded firearm in the house, or even worry about them falling into the wrong hands at all. Plus, no waiting period when you see an airsoft gun you like!

Competition:

The real meat and potatoes of airsoft is the head-to-head competition in combat scenarios such as capture the flag or base defend. This is the purest form of airsoft as it turns it into a real sport with physical activity, strategy, and a high test of skill. This is also one of the more expensive aspects of airsoft to get into as it requires an electric airsoft model to stay competitive, protective eyewear, and most likely body armor as well depending on your comfort of being shot with pellets.

Actually finding the proper locations needed for airsoft can be tough though since you shouldn't be running around in public locations like parks and schools waving around guns. Instead, you'll need to head to the forest or the country or the desert or find an official airsoft area.

Movie Props:

Probably one of the coolest features about airsoft guns is that because they look so authentic to the real thing, they work wonderfully when shooting films. Need a gun prop? Grab an airsoft gun! With this, you should still be careful about using said guns in a public area, so if you're planning to film somewhere with guns where people will be around, inform the local police about what you're hoping to do and get approval. They'll greatly appreciate it instead of getting a call later down the road from a scared civilian.

With airsoft, you've got plenty of choice open to you. There's just so much you can do!
