Getting to Know Airsoft Mini-Gun: Its Features and Benefits

Aside from standard guns like assault rifle, machine gun, and sniper, an Airsoft mini-gun is another interesting addition, either to your weaponry for Airsoft battles or to your Airsoft artillery collection. This gun resembles the barrel-style machine guns used by soldiers in real battles, providing the same effect, feel, and action.

These airsoft weapons are said to have started from the Asahi guns, which were manufactured by Asahi Firearms Co. during the 90s. These guns were the exact replica of the real M134 and could fire 6mm plastic pellets. It had complex designs and used small DC battery as source of power. The introduction of the Asahi guns has spurred the interest of many manufacturers. Many other types of mini-guns were manufactured soon after; most of which are already using electric motor as source of power instead of small DC battery.

Although termed mini-guns, Airsoft mini-guns' appearance doesn't say so. These replica weapons are remarkable for their enormous weight and large size that one person can't handle one of these guns alone. Airsoft mini-guns are meant to be mounted on a tripod for easy use and convenience. These guns may not be excellent in terms of accuracy, but its high rate of fire makes its attractive and preferred by many. This barrel type of machine gun can produce a very high rate of fire of over 3,000 rounds per minute.

Also called Gatling guns or chain guns, these Airsoft guns are driven by an electric motor, which regularly and constantly feeds ammunition into the guns' chamber and continuously rotates the barrels, providing excellent firing mechanism. Because of their outstanding rate of fire, these Airsoft weapons are primarily used for spraying bullets at enemies. Another remarkable feature of these Airsoft guns is its ability to shoot at various distances. They can shoot from 200 fps to 700 fps. Setting up a few of these guns to guard your team is sure to make you nearly impossible to defeat.

With their interesting features and exceptional benefits, the mini-gun can truly be a real treat to gun collectors and excellent additions to Airsoft players' weaponry. It's sad to say though that, primarily due to its large size, only a few companies manufacture them. Piper's Precision Products currently has two types of mini-guns in production. The first one is the compact Airsoft gun called Venom, which fires at 350 fps and has a cyclic fire rate of 75 rounds per second. The second one is the M134-A2, which is a replica of the earlier M134 gun, but with enhancements in its designs. M134-A2 can fire both plastic Airsoft pellets and steel BBs at the speed of 42 rounds per second and at 280 fps to 600 fps.

Depending on the type and style of Airsoft mini-gun that you wish to purchase, you might have to shell out a whopping amount of $4,500 to $6,000. For individuals who are into collecting guns, these guns are definitely great additions to their collection. In fact, many people are already saying that, instead of being used in Airsoft battles, Airsoft mini-guns soon will become great collectors' items. The fact that only a few of them are manufactured once in a while also makes it more attractive to collectors.

The Airsoft Minigun Is For The Serious Airsoft Enthusiast

The Airsoft minigun is an airsoft gun manufactured as a full sized replica of the genuine multi barrel machine gun.

The Airsoft minigun has a rapid rate of fire, and runs on the Gatling principle. Six revolving barrels rotate around an axis and the Airsoft can produce between one thousand and two thousand rounds per minute. Like the Gatling, the Airsoft minigun is cooled by the air passing between the widely displaced barrels.

The Airsoft minigun is also known as a chain gun, and is driven by an electric motor. The electric motor feeds ammunition into the chain gun and powers the firing mechanism. As it moves around its axis, each barrel closes onto the bolt for firing, and then withdraws to extract the spent cartridge.

As in the original Gatling gun, the sights are very basic and aiming is done by the gun's operator, who must look over the top to see what he is firing at. Because the six barrels fire so fast, there is a continual need to feed this monster ammunition, so it is fed from huge boxes of ammo, fed into the airsoft minigun through a flexible metal chute.

Today, there are many airsoft guns, which are created based on popular guns and rifles used especially in WW2, and others such as the Desert Eagle, MPK5, and the sniper rifle.

Since an airsoft minigun is huge in comparison to other miniguns it is complicated to produce and therefore very expensive with some company's products costing up to $5,000. The Echo 1 is a popular maker.

This Creation M134 minigun is an awesome looking gun that is fully operational. Powered by a 12V lead car battery, the six barrels revolve and fire as you press the trigger. The thirteen-hundred round magazine can barely keep up with the rapid fire of the Creation M134, so you will need two people to run this monster efficiently.

This airsoft minigun is surprisingly easy to assemble and made entirely from metal. The bad news is that the Creation M134 was made in a limited edition of 100. It comes with a stand, which you will need, because this monster weighs in at 33lbs - without the lead battery, solenoid and ammunition. The M134 is definitely at the higher end of airsoft gaming cost-wise, and the amount of Digicon BBs you will need to feed this monster can mean an expensive day of war gaming - but fun all the same.

If you can get your hands on one of these, you will certainly be the envy of everyone, and because there are only one hundred of these airsoft miniguns out there, don't be surprised if you are offered ridiculous amounts of money to buy it from you. You'll win every battle with this airsoft minigun!
