Hybrid and Low Powered Electric Airsoft Guns

Hybrid airsoft guns, the newest type guns available on the market today, began their debut in the summer of 2006. The hybrid versions are essentially standard AEGs which have been enhanced with a little extra power and performance capabilities. The magazine inside the hybrid guns are loaded with specialized shell casings, each of which contains one single plastic pellet. Shell casings will be often be designated with a small red end cap, which looks somewhat similar to those on a child's cap gun. The hybrid airsoft guns feature a full blowback system which is powered by electricity. The operation system in these guns is based on the "round-per-shell" mechanism, so that a shell casing is expelled with each pellet fired, while the end cap provides a more realistic sounding and smoking shot effect.

Electric, Low-Powered Airsoft Guns

The low-powered airsoft guns are designated as such in order to differentiate them from the more expensive, original, more powerful variety of AEGs. Although the overall electrical and mechanical operation and design are similar between the low-powered and the higher powered versions, the velocities and construction of the low-powered varieties cause them to function in a slightly different manner. Low-powered airsoft guns are not to be confused with the Mini Electrics, which fire exclusively in a fully automatic method. Low-powered electric guns are often near-exact replicas of a traditional firearm, whereas the Mini Electrics are miniaturized and more obvious when it comes to their replica status. Mini Electrics are also made of a clear or a black plastic, whereas low-powered varieties can be made of these and other materials.
