Airsoft Spring Guns For Kids On A Budget

Throughout the years, airsoft has become a very popular sport for young and old alike. This is a game that simulates military situations. Instead of using live guns, they use composite replicas of the weapons that military and police organizations use. These guns fire small, round, plastic balls instead of live ammunition. These pellets are fired with the use of compressed gas, an electric gearbox or a spring. Because these games are quite realistic, people get quite a thrill from re-enacting these missions. It gives a good dose of adrenaline rush that keeps people coming back for more.

The AEG, Gas Pistols and Airsoft Spring Guns

Presently, Automatic Electric Guns or AEG's are commonly used during these games. This type of airsoft gun uses batteries to store electricity that is used to power a gear box. This gear box then causes the pellet to be expelled whenever the trigger is pulled. This feature also gives the user flexibility in choosing semi or full automatic mode of their guns. Gas pistols, which are powered by compressed gas, are usually used as side weapons during this game.

Airsoft spring guns, however, are not usually used in such games. This is because the airsoft spring gun uses energy stored in the spring whenever the user pulls on the cocking handle to enable the gun to be fired. With this energy, the 6mm plastic pellets can have a velocity of 400 feet per second and can reach a range of 30 meters. This means that the gun should be charged manually every time the gun is fired. Unlike the AEG, it cannot be set to semi-automatic or full automatic mode.

Three Types of Airsoft Spring Guns

There are three types of airsoft spring guns: airsoft spring guns, rifles, pistols and shotguns. Airsoft spring rifles include the M16 series, M14 series, the AK47 series and its variants and other sniper rifles modeled from weapons found all over the world. The pistols also come in varied models and countries of origin. These consist of automatics such as Colt .45, 9mm Berretta or a revolver such as the Colt Python. Shotguns are only available as airsoft spring guns.

A Cheap Gun For All Seasons

Although airsoft spring guns can be greatly overpowered by AEG's and gas pistols, they can be used in all types of adverse weather such as rain, snow, extreme heat or cold. Gas pistols malfunction during cold weathers. Exposing an AEG to the elements can also damage it.

Another great thing about airsoft spring guns is the price. Because most of these spring guns cost under $50, it can easily be afforded by anyone. Aside from buying a constant supply of BB pellets, there are no extra expenses to consider when buying a spring gun. It doesn't require canisters of compressed gas to function. Neither does it need battery replacements and upgrades.

As far as looks and feel are concerned it really takes a lot of exposure to spot the difference between the two. They are both made to scale like the real firearm and have the same metal and plastic components. So really there isn't much difference between them.
