Release Your Inner Hero With Authentic BB Guns!

Weekend BB gun games are a great way to work off job stress! You can release your inner 'warrior' and plan clever strategies to win the battle. What better way to show you are a born leader of men!

To be successful in staged battles you have to be good at tactics. It's not just a 'Bang, bang you're dead.' activity. You need to consider camouflage, radio communications and sniping as well as fire and movement.

One of the advantages of Airsoft BB guns over paintballing is that BB guns are replica firearms. Airsoft firearms look and feel like the real thing and this makes your role-playing exciting and realistic!

Jungle commando

You can play the role of a jungle commando with a high power rifle, a bank raider with a pump action shotgun or a 'squaddie' with a British Army style rifle complete with laser dot sight. Or if you fancy yourself as a New York cop, you'll really feel the part with a full size U.S. police issue replica!

If you are a keen player of video games, you will find that wearing role-play clothes and firing authentic style Airsoft BB guns is a thousand times more fun!

Ammunition

The gun pellets used are small plastic or metal balls, which range from 0.12 - 0.88 grams. For long range and sniper fire, 0.30 - 0.48 gram pellets are a good choice. They are heavier and more accurate, as they are not easily deflected by the wind.

Selecting the best quality pellets for your gun is important. Misshapen pellets cause damage to Airsoft guns. In addition, poor quality BB pellets with a rough surface are less accurate. Even the smallest fault will affect the trajectory of your shot.

Prices are very reasonable and you can buy 2,000 good-quality 0.12 gram metal pellets for about £5.99 or £8.91. Metal BB gun pellets are 6mm in size but Airsoft guns use 8mm plastic ammunition.

Military manoeuvres

Airsoft guns that use 8 mm plastic pellets have a muzzle velocity of less than 600 ft. per second. This is a safe velocity for use in a controlled area. 8 mm plastic pellets are used on military manoeuvres, in police training exercises and by role players.

BB guns use 6mm metal pellets and have a higher shooting velocity of up to 1,200 ft. per second. This makes them less suitable for training exercises and role-play games.

Hop-up

Another difference between the guns is that Airsoft guns use 'hop-up' to increase their range. This is necessary to compensate for the lower muzzle velocity, which reduces their shooting distance.

Hero

War games with Airsoft guns is a great hobby that challenges you to use all your physical and mental skills. You may have enjoyed playing with toy soldiers as a child. But now you can wear a copy uniform, arm yourself with a replica gun and be the hero you always wanted to be!

How To Zero A Rifle Scope

You've just got yourself a new rifle scope, fitted it and let me guess...for some reason your shots are landing nowhere near the crosshairs?

Sadly there's more to rifle scope sharp shooting than just plonking the scope on the rifle and forever after shooting like an SAS sniper! You have to "zero" it.

Think about it. It's like a bike wheel. If you tighten the bolts wrong, too much on one side for example, it spins wrong and rubs the brake pads. It's the same with a Rifle scope. If it's not set up correctly it will be offline and even at short air rifle, airsoft and paintball ranges this is going to throw your accuracy right off. At longer ranges you'll miss by a mile (well figuratively anyway!)

What Does "Zero a scope" mean?

Zeroing a sight or scope means getting the crosshair in position so that when you shoot. Ground zero if you like. The point of impact. There's a lot of discussion amongst shooters on the best way to zero a scope or sight. What I've written below is what I've been sending out to my ebay scope buyers for the last year or so and received a lot of good comments back about it so I know it's OK!

How to Zero a Rifle Scope

First of all you need to set a firm foundation by fitting the scope mounts well.

Put the scope mounts on the rifle first with the top brackets removed.
Tighten them into place using 1/2 turns at the time so that they sit solid and level as best as is possible, i.e., the downward pressure is as equal as possible. At this stage don't tighten them fully as you might want to slide them up and down a little.
Now take scope and place it on top of the open rifle mounts. Make sure the windage and elevation turrets are one up and one to the right (these are the "turrets" on the sight. You use them later to make micro adjustments and in the field adjustments for wind)

Then put the top mount brackets on and tighten - Again use partial turns to tighten up. Don't tighten fully at this stage, you may yet need to adjust a little.

Zero the scope

Lie in your normal shooting position and check that you can see through the scope well...
The distance between your eye and the rear scope lens is called Eye Relief.
Unlike cartoons you do not use a scope by pressing your eye up against the scope lens!

Once comfortable complete the screwing down of all mounts so that your set up is solid - take care at this stage to keep the final turns partial and one by one to ensure pressure is equal.

Now it's time to zero the scope for shooting:

Load the rifle
Adopt your standard prone/lie down shooting position. Prone is the best way as if you test shoot from standing or kneeling positions you waver more and it's harder to do a "true test".

Put some sort of target in place at say 20 yards - or whatever you think your "standard" range will be.
Using cross hair on target centre - Take 2-3 shots - Where do do they fall in relation to where you want them to? Right, left, up, down - dead on (lucky you!)

2-3 shots is best as it will average out shooter inaccuracy and give you a more "significant" feel for how far or close you are from true zero.

Now it's time to use the windage and elevation turrets to get it zeroed dead on. These are the 2 turrets on the top and right side of the scope. See my website for pictures.

Models vary, you'll probably screw a cap off and expose either a coin twist or finger knurled type of dial.
The top turret adjusts up and down. The right one left and right.
If you have your scopes instructions they should have a table with figures to tell you what each click adjustment means in terms of cross hair movement at "x" distance, e.g., 1/8 inch at 100 metres.

Use single click turns and each time take a new shot to gauge where the shot now falls - the dials basically adjust the cross hair position up-down and left-right.

It's trial and error basically but with testing you'll get to where you need to be and be able to trust that your shots will go where it says they will! This may take some time and a lot of shots. Be patient!

I sell rifle scopes and laser sights on ebay for a living. After getting asked repeatedly for instructions on how to zero scopes I wrote a text file guide to send to people. This had some really good comments back so I decided to use it as the basis for a new website which is about, funnily enough, how to zero rifle scopes (and zero in laser sights, how to go about choosing a new scope and more) See it at http://www.zeroriflescope.co.uk/ and my ebay shop at http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Hunting-Shooting-Fishing

Ghillie Suit Background

A Ghillie Suit, or also referred to as a Yowie Suit is a type of camouflage clothing designed to resemble heavy underbrush. It is typically constructed from a net or cloth garment, which itself is made up of loose strips of cloth mixed with real or artificial twine, leaves and twigs. The Ghillie Suit provides excellent concealment in some of nature's harshest natural environments.

The History of the Ghillie Suit, begins during the 19th Century in Scotland. Back then the Scottish land owners used it to capture poachers. During the first and second World Wars, similar suits were used, but during these conflicts camouflage was not widely used by regular soldiers or common soldiers. The British Lovat Scouts' Snipers are known to be the first military unit to use Ghillie Suits.

Today the Ghillie Suit is used by snipers, hunters and professional soldiers. Their Ghillie Suits today are made up of loose strips of cloth mixed with real or artificial twine, leaves and twigs. The base is usually either a set of combat BDUs (Battle Dress Uniform) or a one-piece aviator type uniform. The suit is often turned inside out so that the pockets are on the inside and protected from damage caused by crawling during stalking. The front part of the suit is covered with a thick canvas or cloth to reinforce the front, and padding covers the knees and elbows for added comfort and to prevent being worn-out.

In order to attach strips of jute, burlap, twigs, leaves etc, netting is sewed or glued on to the back of the base. For obvious reason, the color of the garnish must match the area the suit will be worn in. The garnish should be between one to two feet long and should completely cover the back, legs, and arms. While lying in the prone position, the garnish should reach down to the ground and cover most of the boots. To add more effectiveness natural vegetation must be added to the suit for it to completely blend into the environment. The vegetation can be tucked into the netting. However, the Ghillie Suit does not make someone completely invisible and special care must be taken when wearing the suit. The suit, because of its garnish, is a fire hazard and must be treated with a fire-retardant. Also, the suit can become extremely hot and bulky, so if it is to be used in high temperatures the sniper must do everything to avoid dehydration and fatigue.

Nature is organic and nothing in the environment has perfectly straight lines, which is why equipment like rifles and antennas often hand over concealed positions. To avoid this, good snipers also make or purchase little Gillie Suits for their rifles. Following the same ideas and principles of camouflage, snipers wrap their rifles in canvas and create little sleeves that make them blend into the environment.

Soldiers are trained to keep their eyes peeled for strange things in their surroundings that could represent a threat. The human form is one of the most recognizable shapes in nature. Snipers, spotters, and trained observers all look for color and contour when trying to spot an enemy in the brush or other terrain. Ghillie suits help the sniper to break up his outline, hide straight lines in his gear and blend his overall color with the surroundings.

What Ammo Should I Use?

You're now the proud owner of a new Airsoft gun. You picked the Bolt Action Kar 98 "98K" Mauser Carbine WWII Rifle or the M9 MEU Tactical Semi Automatic Gas Blowback Pistol - you're ready to play! Except for one thing: which ammunition should you get?

Each gun has its own specifications and arenas of usage - sniper rifles are not used for close range combat and hand guns are no good for long range shooting. Ammunition can seriously impact how your gun functions and the types of game play in which you can participate.

Airsoft bbs come in different shapes, sizes and weights. Most airsoft pellets, also known as BBs (ball bearing) are normally 6mm spherical plastics. They typically run from 5.93-5.98mm in diameter, but don't be fooled by these small numbers! Even a small, plastic pellet can do damage if protective gear and correct game play are not enforced. Some guns can even use bullets up to 8mm in diameter!

BB pellets are measured in hundredths of grams and are available in different weights ranging from.12g to.43g.

A different, newer option for Airsoft guns are the starch-based biodegradable bb pellets. Oftentimes, these pellets are required in outdoor game play where sweeping up is not an option. They eliminate having to try to locate the minuscule bbs, without causing harm to the environment!

How do diameter, weight and material affect game play?

Velocity: lighter pellets achieve higher velocity; therefore selecting a.12g bb will result in faster speeds. However, this lighter Airsoft ammo is subject to external factors like wind. Additionally, heavier bbs will retain velocity faster than their lighter counterparts - that is, less heavy bbs will start of fast, but slow down quickly.

Trajectory: trajectory is the curved path a projectile takes; lighter pellets have more markedly curved projectiles.

Weight: Heavier pellets cause more damage to its target, especially at close ranges; additionally, they may only be used with more powerful Airsoft guns.

Why is it so important to select one or the other? Having the wrong size, type or even weight bb pellet could damage your gun.

.12g are usually used for gas and spring-load weapons, not for high-end AEGs (automatic electric guns).

.23g is a heavy weight for AEGs and.25g is the heaviest weight a standard AEG, blowback or spring gun can manage.

.30g-.36 are standard to heavy pellets for sniper rifles; 0.43 g is for highest levels of upgrades sniper rifles.

Airsoft gun bbs may not damage the skin but are extremely dangerous to the eyes, so goggles or other protective gear must be worn at all times while playing Airsoft sports.

Cheap Airsoft Guns For Sale

Most of the times when I talk to people who are not very familiar with the Airsoft game I am told that it is a very expensive sport. This misconception mainly comes from the similarity of Airsoft and Paintball. In paintball you not only are bound to use gas powered metal guns and rifles but the paintballs are also expensive consumables.

With this article I would like to clear the things a bit. Airsoft is one of the most affordable game I can think of that includes team work and shooting.

The so called BBs that you shoot with are small plastic pellets with spherical form. The most expensive package I could find is 3000 for about $35. The regular and widely used airsoft bbs in a package of 6000 cost $10. Compare that to 2000 paintballs for $70 from the best ones and 2000 for $30 for the regulars. In terms of consumables Airsoft is quite cheap.

The first time I went to an airsoft war game a few years back I bought a cheap airsoft gun that was on sale. I paid $2 at a retail store. They had some cheap airsoft shotguns too.

This was back in time when the game was not so popular. Now you can find a cheap airsoft gun for sale with a price tag below $1. Believe me or not, a price tag of $0.25 or $0.50 is real. For a shotgun you will have to spare more money. About $5 that is. And if you want to have a spare gun there are packages of M16 replica and a pistol for the price of about $8. Compare that to a minimum of $100 for paintball marker. Of course these cheap airsoft guns are plastic and are not the top quality but you will be able to play a few games and see if you like it or not.

Now, there are expensive top quality airsoft pistols, rifles, automatic machine guns and even long range snipers. Yes the will cost you more than $100 and might even go to above $1000 but these are for players that live airsoft, breath airsoft and the only thing that they want from the week is for it to end so they can enjoy a nice battle weekend. Well, I am one of those guys but we do not care how much your gun costs. We will still play with you if you come to one of our airsoft fields.

There are many cheap airsoft guns if you are on a tight budget or just want to test the game. Just browse bb guns for sale and see it for yourself.

Choosing a Scope For Your M4 Airsoft Rifle

When you initially purchase your m4 airsoft rifle, it may or may not have that additional scope which sits on top of the gun. You may want to have one since aside from making the airsoft gun look very good, it can also improve your accuracy when you are using the gun during actual competition. However, there are many choices for you when it comes to scope, so let's tackle three of them in this article.

Laser sights can be installed on your m4 airsoft rifle but it is not recommended if you plan on using your gun during actual combat. The reason is because many of those who host airsoft fights won't allow the use of laser sight scopes. While it may look cool for you to have one on your gun, the fact remains that laser sights can be harmful for your opponent. An accidental point to the eyes can cause health problems and can even blind someone in worse case scenarios.

Telescopic scopes are my personal favorite when it comes to m4 airsoft rifle looks. It is very useful when you're using your m4 rifle as a sniper gun while stalking opponents in airsoft combat. However, fact remains that it is sparingly used. Most of the time, m4 airsoft guns are used as melee weapons and constantly calibrating the telescopic scope won't do you any good in such a scenario.

Last would be the red or green dot scope. Now, these are the best choice when it comes to using your m4 airsoft rifle in airsoft fights. Dot scopes are mostly cheap and are fast indicators for you to fire at an opponent once a dot appears on him. Some variants of this scope can also give magnification, which is something good for long-range competitive airsoft combat.

Choosing Your Airsoft Gun

Depending on which game you are going to be playing you will need the right gun for the game. Some games require you to play with only a pistol others require you to play with a rifle. Knowing what airsoft gun to play with will give you the best advantage at winning the game of choice. It can also make a difference on where you play and what kind of player you are.

Playing games with a long-range distance, you will want something to meet the need of a long-range shot. Something like the AEG series is going to give you the best accuracy along with the speed needed for the long range. These are the most powerful of airsoft guns available. The Black Eagle M6 has a range of around 115 feet. It is accurate and a very powerful gun. A airsoft gun like this would be good for the loner range battles. The AEG series have so many possibilities that many purchase these guns as their primary weapon.

The Airsoft Sniper series is a gun that beginners find very interesting because the price is not that much more than a regular rifle, but many need a lot of adjustments or accessories before they can become useful in the game. The Sniper rifle is also not used very often and is not normally a primary weapon.

If you are a beginner many suggest using something that is low powered to start your experience with. The more you play and the more experience then the higher powered you will want to go with. The lower power guns also are the more affordable guns to choose from.

Spring Airsoft pistols, known as springers, are good sidearms to use but they are not commonly used in combat. Gas powered gives more coverage because it can be semi or fully automatic but it is not ideal for distance. The spring airsoft shotguns have more power than the pistol and make a great usable primary gun though this gun is not recommended for beginners. This shotgun can also make an excellent secondary gun if you have a sling to put over your shoulder.

In the end when choosing your airsoft gun you should go with how much experience you have with the game. The less experience the less power you are going to want to start with. If you are an experienced player the AEG series of rifles is going to give you the power along with the distance needed for most of the games that are commonly played.

Choosing the Airsoft M4 Rifle As Your First Airsoft Gun

If you are looking at an airsoft M4 (regardless of brand) as your first airsoft gun it comes with no surprise because the M16 and M4 are the standard issued weapon for the U.S. Military and is also in use by 15 other NATO countries. It is also the most mass produced rifle in its caliber, that by itself has to tell you something.

As a beginner, buying your first airsoft gun is probably the most crucial part to getting started into airsoft. An important step to buying your first airsoft m4 airsoft gun is establishing what price range you can afford.

The great part about starting out with an airsoft M4 rifle is that it will give you lots of versatility when it comes to playing your airsoft games. For instance, if everyone was to decide to play a close quarter combat game your airsoft M4 rifle would be able to do just fine, thanks to the collapsible stock and already relatively short rifle, add a red dot scope and you'll probably have one of the best choice weapons for the scenario! If you were to play a game in the forest and decided to play the role of a sniper with your airsoft m4, this could also be done by raising the hop up, using heavier airsoft bbs and using a magnified scope. One could also buy an airsoft M16 as opposed to an M4 airsoft gun if they will be doing more long range shooting, this will give the player a couple additional inches on the barrel for better accuracy .

If the U.S. Military using the M16 and M4 as their standard weapon is not enough reason to sway you to get an airsoft M4 as your first gun, the huge amount of modifications and customization that can be done to these airsoft guns should be the reason. This is one important reason why you still want to go with a good well reviewed airsoft gun even if you cannot afford to buy a $300+ airsoft rifle and have to settle for a mid grade $125+ model. Doing so will give you the ability to upgrade your airsoft M4 rifle in the future, once you have more cash saved up.

The airsoft M4 is a great rifle to get started out with. It is relatively light weight, versatile, and capable of shooting far distances but also makes a great weapon for close quarter games. Obviously this will all depend on which brand & model you end up going with. It is always important to make sure you are buying an electric airsoft gun (a.k.a. airsoft aeg gun ), many beginner's will make the mistake of buying an airsoft m4 or any rifle for that matter powered by spring because of the noticeable price difference, thinking the airsoft gun will be capable of firing semi or fully automatic.

An airsoft M4 as your first airsoft gun is a great choice, choosing the brand and deciding your price range are the next two important steps to buying your first airsoft gun. If you found this article helpful you can find more in depth articles, DIY's, and reviews at Airsoft Den.

Are Spring Airsoft Guns Really Worth It

Spring airsoft guns usually get overlooked by people buying their first airsoft gun. The variety and styles of guns on offer can often cause confusion for the first time buyer. Which gun offers the best power or the lowest running costs. Should you buy gas, electric or spring? In this capacity spring airsoft guns are often viewed as being the "poor guys" airsoft gun. Spring guns cost a lot less than their gas or electric competitors but that doesn't mean that they're inherently inferior to every other airsoft gun out there.

Your standard airsoft spring gun contains a large, heavy duty spring. When the gun is prepared for firing the spring is fixed backwards in the gun and under quite a bit of pressure. When the trigger on the gun is pulled the spring shoots forward and pushes a small piston in front of it. This piston compresses all the air inside the barrel of the gun which then fires the bb from the barrel of the rifle. This is a simple but very effective firing mechanism.

What bugs most airsoft hobbyists about spring guns is that they're single shot. Every time you want to fire a bb from the gun you have to cock it and then fire. This is a little ironic for some airsoft fans considering the gun they're firing is modeled on a fully automatic assault rifle. Spring handguns users tend not to let this become an issue for them but it can really niggle at the full auto airsoft fraternity.

Spring guns still have benefits that make them worth owning and these are well worth considering for any potential airsoft owner. The first one is that they tend to cost an awful lot less than their electronic or gas powered counterparts. If you're strapped for cash then spring powered guns will allow you to adopt airsoft as a hobby without breaking the bank.

The running cost of airsoft guns is also lower. They don't need to be recharged with gas or be fitted with new batteries when the old ones finally go flat. You can fire bbs all day and not have to worry about any extra expenditure of any kind - except of course for replacement bbs.

Spring airsoft guns are also extremely quiet so if you want to include stealth as part of your airsoft wargame strategy then spring guns are ideal as sniper rifles. Most airsoft sniper rifles are actually spring powered for reasons of authenticity (bolt action) and providing an additional element of stealth.

So don't downplay spring powered airsoft guns too much - they're actually quite a lot of fun.

The Origin and Kinds of Guns

Guns are weapons that forces projectiles like bullets. Projectiles are usually fired within a hollow tube of the gun called the "barrel". The distance between one side to the other side of the barrel is measured in millimeters or inches. It determines the bullet size of a specific gun.

These devices nowadays are mostly rifled unlike the older versions of muskets. Modern guns have a sequence of grooves in a spiral position on the barrel. There are some exceptions though which includes the smoothbores on AFVs, tanks, shotguns and various types of artillery.

The term "cannon" is somewhat the same as with the term "gun" for they are borrowed from the 15th century French language. In terms of military language or usage, it is often referred as artillery, an ordinance that forces projectiles at a high velocity rate. This type of artillery includes naval guns. Mortars as well as other hand-held firearms are not accepted in the military for they do not need the training and precise gunnery data when engaging the targets. There are also two exceptions to this, namely the shotgun and the machine gun.

A shotgun is a hand-held firearm. Also a smoothbore, it can fire a single load of projectile or shot called slug. On the other hand, a machine gun is an automatic weapon mounted on a wheeled carriage or a tripod. These are usually operated by two persons. It can also be any other tool resembling the same shape with a trigger, like a drill gun.

A Gun-Type Fission Weapon is referred as a component of a nuclear weapon. A fissile material is the projectile of this weapon captured inside a device. The device within the nuclear artillery must never be confused by the literal gun fired by the police or a cop.

Kinds of Guns

First is the military firearm. This includes long guns such as the Arquebus, two Musket types called the Muketoon and Wall Gun, and Blunderbuss. In this category, it also includes personal defense weapons such as rifles that include the bolt-action rifle, lever action rifle, battle rifle, assault rifle, carbine, sniper rifle, and service rifle. Shotguns are also included especially the semi-automatic shotgun and the combat shotgun. Furthermore, the Tu Huo Quiang and the sub machine gun are included in this category.

And then there are also the civilian and military Handguns. The primary one in this category is the handgun. The captive bolt pistol, machine pistol, and hand cannon are all types of handguns. Pistols such as the Howdah pistol, mouse gun, junk gun, and pocket pistol are included.

There are also machine guns. These are heavier, bulkier, more powerful and complicated to handle. It takes some skills to use it properly and handle it well. There are also artillery guns, like the Carronade and Howitzer.

Tank guns are also popular. The .50 BMG is the most common type and used by many people. Another type is auto cannon guns. Examples of this type include the .50 BMG, chain gun and auto cannon. And then there are also those for entertainment and training. This type includes the BB gun, water gun, paintball gun, pellet gun and the airsoft gun.

Last but not the least is the hunting guns. These are used to capture wild animals in the forest. It could be as a hobby or to eliminate danger in a certain area.

What is Rifle Camo?

Hunting and activities such as paintball and airsoft often have individuals dress up in camouflage. In order to be successful in hunting and on the field, participants need to have a sense of stealth, and be able to blend into their environment. Hunters understand that you wear camouflage to break down the human silhouette so you go unnoticed. Unfortunately, while many focus all their time on this, they forget about concealing their weapons - which is often the first thing an opponent or your prey notices. When out on the field or in the woods, do not forget to conceal every part of your body and equipment.

Hunters and outdoor enthusiasts often opt to use ghillie suits to conceal themselves, and are an excellent tool for camouflage. Yet they are stunned when they are constantly caught. What tips off their presence is usually the fact that their rifle was not camouflaged.

If you did not know already, most animals are color blind. Instead, they utilize their smell and eyesight senses to avoid their predators and ultimately their death. Hunters know this, which why seasoned individuals know they need to mask their smell, but that's where most people's efforts stop. Despite the fact that most animals are color blind, they can still see patterns and shapes. Before I said you need ghillie suits so you can break down your silhouette, otherwise animals can tell the difference between natural free-forming shapes like bushes and trees versus rigid lines that define the human body. While ghillie suits will allow a hunter to blend into their environment where animals will only see a continuation of natural shapes, animals will notice a rifle sticking out and be startled. An uncamouflaged rifle will bring attention to you and will result in the animal fleeing. A rifle rag, or rifle wrap allows you to avoid this.

Covering your rifle with camo, will allow you to fit in with your environment. There are various ways to conceal your rifle. Many companies manufacture different types of rifle camo such as Rifle Wraps, Rifle Rag Kits, and you can even purchase a Paintball Tank & Loader Ghillie Cover for paintball enthusiasts. Rifle camo come in various patterns that include woodland, mossy oak, desert, and leafy green - to best accompany your ghillie suit. You can also buy rifle camo that is lighter, ones that are made with synthetic materials, like GhillieGear.com's Rifle Wrap Synthetic Thread.

If your looking to purchase rifle camo for your ghillie suit visit GhillieGear.com, for all your high quality ghillie suit materials.

Choosing an Airsoft Role

With larger airsoft teams, it's important to assign specific roles to each member of the squad. Each role provides a particular team function, but there are certainly situations where some crossover does occur. In an attempt to keep the team structure as simply as possible, we have narrowed down the various airsoft roles into three distinct classes.

Rifleman/Assault Soldier

The rifleman is the most common and versatile role on an airsoft team. Their main responsibilities include eliminating hostile forces and assisting with team goals. The rifleman squad will typically incorporate battlefield tactics such as flanking and suppressive fire in order to achieve their objectives. A rifleman should be able to rapidly deploy and quickly respond to identified threats with appropriate action. They should also be willing to take orders without question.

Sniper/Spotter

The sniper/spotter usually operates autonomously from the rest of the squad and is considered the "lone wolf" of the team. Their primary responsibilities are to pursue, harass and identify the opposing force while at the same time remaining unseen. They're also tasked with communicating the enemy's position and movements to the rest of the squad. Generally, the sniper role should be filled by someone who is stealthy, quick and doesn't mind working alone. The sniper should also have a pair of binoculars or a scoped airsoft sniper rifle in order to hit and spot targets from an extended range.

Support Gunner

The support gunner's main responsibility is to simply suppress the enemy force in an attempt to allow his or her troops to move more freely. The support gunner is able to accomplish a high level of suppression by using a fully automatic weapon. A support gunner's weapon will typically feature a large capacity airsoft magazine and a high rate of fire. Their marksmanship and tactical awareness are not all that important, because their primary objective is to merely suppress the enemy and not to eliminate them. However, a support gunner will need to be strong and agile in order to quickly move with such a heavy weapon.

Choose Your Weapon - How to Select Your First Airsoft Gun

Choosing the right weapon will enhance your airsoft sporting experience. Follow these steps when selecting your first firearm.

Determine how you will be using your airsoft gun.

There are a few questions you need to ask yourself before deciding on an airsoft gun: What kind of playing situation will you be most frequently participating in? Military re-enactment or sport genres? Does historical accuracy matter? What role will you play on your team? Do you want to be in the heat of battle, or a peripheral sniper? A Rifleman (an excellent position for a newbie) makes up the bulk of the team and participates in a variety of positions and fire ranges. A CQC (Close Quarters Combat) soldier will need more durability and a firearm that is maneuverable. A Support Gunner pins down the enemy with heavy fire so that other team members can advance. A sniper or marksman needs a high degree of accuracy. Know what role you want to play. Select the gun style that suits your role. Determine which length, weight, degree of accuracy, rate of fire, and the upgrade potential you desire.

Decide which type and style of airsoft gun will work for your playing needs.

There are three types of airsoft guns to choose from: spring-action, electric and gas. Each has certain advantages. Spring-action guns are inexpensive and very durable but lack the power of gas and electric guns. Gas guns may suffer reduced performance in extreme cold while electric guns require a battery and charger. The most popular guns are arguably airsoft AEGs (airsoft automatic electric guns) which are always a good place to start for beginners. Guns also come in 5 different styles: handgun, rifle, shotgun, sniper rifle, and machine gun. Your role in the game will determine which style makes the most sense.

Consider your airsoft gun and accessory budget.

What kind of budget will you be working within? Will you be playing competitively or just for fun? How much are you willing to spend on this new endeavor? Keep in mind that along with your gun(s), you may also want airsoft accessories (BBs, green gas, lasers and sights/scopes/optics), and tactical gear/accessories (tactical vests, masks/face & eye protection, camouflage suits, holsters, and military-style backpacks).

Test drive some guns.

If you have friends with airsoft guns, borrow their weapons and see what feels right to you. Most airsoft players have more than one type of gun to use in different scenarios... test out as many as you can. There are fantastic airsoft gun deals online which will help you stretch your budget. If you are just starting out, keep in mind there are lots of airsoft gun starter packages that can help jump start you airsoft experience by getting you all the extras you need for cheap.

Close Quarters Combat in Airsoft

CQC is a military tactic that makes use of proximity to defeat the enemy. This article discusses the possible application to airsoft games.

If you've ever played a game of metal gear, you will know what I'm talking about. One man being able to take out an entire army, defeat the main guy and get the girl. (Okay so that sounds just like any other videogame around the world). But what if the game play was presented in such a way that with proper training, you too would be able to accomplish the feat? And it gets even trickier. In the game, you can even accomplish the feat using nothing but a pistol! This game got me thinking. Can you apply this theory to actual airsoft games?

Sure being able to wield out your 8 inch airsoft machine guns would be a cool sight to see. But being able to take your opponent out with a side arm exemplifies true skill. There are many advantages of using the sidearm over Airsoft machine guns. And these advantages can be in their proximity. CQC or close quarters combat is a technique popularized by Russian and Israeli soldiers which is used in the event that your battle will end up in close quarters.

There can be a psychological battle that you can wage with your pistol as compared to the opponents airsoft machine guns. One would be as your distance between you and your opponent decreases, your advantage with a handgun increases. If you are able to isolate the maneuverability of his primary weapon, which are usually the airsoft machine guns, you will be at a better advantage of taking him down with the pistol. Many people in airsoft need to be far away in order for them to be in their comfort zone. Being able to fire airsoft machine guns at close range would be quite difficult for someone who has little to no experience in close quarters combat.

Now I'm not saying that the use of a pistol will outdo airsoft machine guns and airsoft sniper rifles every time. All I'm saying is that it is an option that hasn't been explored that much in the realm of airsoft. Imagine being able to take out a horde of troops holding just your pistol against their airsoft machine guns and airsoft sniper rifles.

Close quarters combat, I believe is a skill that can be developed. And if you do develop it, any person you encounter who doesn't have this skill will probably give in to pressure and choke. Think of the scenario of a bull homing in on you and he's getting real close real fast. Many would usually lose control and get careless. That's the same theory with trying to rush up close to your opponent.

If this skill ever does surface in airsoft games, it would be something new to add in terms of strategy and technique. Not to mention the number of BB pellets you would save.

Automatic Airsoft Gun

Hobbies come, hobbies go. For gun enthusiasts, they believe that their obsession with a certain hobby will last for a lifetime.

Airsoft guns are primarily used for recreational purposes, although they can be and are in fact used for military purposes where they can simulate battle situations without the risk of mortally wounding the soldiers involved in the exercise.

For recreational purposes, many airsoft gun aficionados are now turning to Automatic Airsoft guns. The demand for automatic air soft gun is so high that it is considered to be the most popular type of air soft gun to date. The automatic air soft guns are electronically charged by rechargeable batteries. Enthusiasts prefer the automatic type of these guns for its convenience and efficiency since non automatic type of these guns have a slower cocking mechanism and is slower to the draw.

The manufacture of these guns had its roots primarily in some Asian countries like Japan and Taiwan but eventually spread to North America in the middle of the 1990's.

Nickel cadmium batteries powers automatic airsoft gun, the same batteries used in remote-controlled toy vehicles. They have the capacity to fire rapid rounds because power is generated from electricity and not the traditional spring action.

They have different models, assault rifles to sniper rifles. The weapon of choice should be compatible to the scenario one would engage in. Air soft automatic guns comes with accessories that makes the weapon look authentic, it also enhances the performance of the gun.

Is one thinking about taking air soft as a hobby? Well, you don't have to look far for the best equipment to get you started. As one becomes an expert, then that is the time to invest in heavy automatic air soft guns.

Better also invest in long lasting batteries for if one runs out of batteries, it is equivalent to running out of bullets. Of course, it also shows being wise on a particular product you're wanting to avail. Nowadays, items get higher prices so you are in the middle of two great decisions. First, to buy costly item and use it for long lasting time, or - purchase less costly but you won't enjoy using for a very long time. So this requires being wise thinker because this is what we need in a slowly turning expensive world.

I think it is all sufficient now to help you make the first move!

Comparing Three Kinds of Airsoft Guns

This article is just a quick overview of three variations of airsoft guns. The first I will talk about is airsoft rifles. These are the most popular airsoft guns because they have the most uses. Airsoft rifles are very powerful, and thus are appropriate for heated airsoft games where this is a lot of competition between all the players. When this is the case, each individual wants to be sporting the best gear possible, and the only way to do that is with a solid AEG, which is yet another subset of the airsoft rifle.

A quality sidearm for an airsoft rifle is an airsoft pistol. Some pistols are stronger than rifles, depending on what type of each you are contrasting. You can fire a pistol with only one hand, which has led many people to try using two pistols at once. If you are ambidextrous, then this can work out to your advantage, but for most people, it merely detracts from the total accuracy that you have. Therefore, it is a better idea to get one really good pistol, and use it as a backup for your rifle.

Finally, there are airsoft shotguns. Unlike what you would normally think, most shotguns do not fire more than one round at a time (although there are quite a few that can fire three BBs at once). The important thing about shotguns is that they are powerful and accurate, and function more like watered-down snipers than what you would think a shotgun would do. Whatever kind of gun you choose, as long as you like it and think it will meet your needs, that is the important thing.

Ghillie Suit History

The word 'ghillie' is an old Scottish term for a special kind of game warden. Back in the day, Ghillies were made to protect the Lords land from poachers, and adopted the use of camouflage suits to help with this. They would also hide in the long grass and wait for unsuspecting game to wander by, then jump out and grab them with bare hands. They would then take their catches back to the castle so the Lord could shoot it in the castle courtyard in a "mock hunt."

These olden day Ghillies, using their keen tracking and stalking skills combined with their incredible camouflage paved the way to the evolution of Ghille Suits. These suits completely change the odds out in the forest and make it a lot easier to hunt successfully. More recently Ghillies have been introduced into the game of paintball, giving a whole new sniper element to the game.

The base of the Ghillie is laden with heavy canvas to help pad the snipers torso during the long hours of the day while he lay on his stomach. Ghillie suits are made specifically to act as camouflage in certain environments, whether it be desert, woodland, moss or all seasons. The Ghillie suit is covered with numerous strips and strands of burlap/jute and cloth along with other natural material attached primarily to the garment. There are a range of different Ghillie suit variations for each environment, and often local elements including vines, twigs and branches are entwined into the suit. The most common are the Bow Hunter, the Bush Rag, the Stalker and the Chameleon. The strips and strands that make up the camouflage vary in length from 6-18 inches. A complete Ghillie suit may have up to 1,000 strips and strands attached to it. These attachments are what make the Ghillie suit so effective in breaking up the human form and blending with the area surroundings. Ghille suits normally come in 3-4 parts, often including Ghillie gloves, a Ghillie hat and a rifle wrap, which compliments your Ghillie suit by concealing your rifle also.

Making the right decision on what Ghillie suit to use is also very important. When hunting from a blind where only your torso is exposed a Ghillie Jacket is best to use. When hunting in thick low growing vegetation, the Ghillie Poncho will give you greater mobility and still offer all the camouflage you need. When in hunting in sparse cover its pretty hard to camouflage yourself, even with a Ghillie, you can use the base of a large tree or rock as a good way to breakup your profile, standing next to anything will improve the effectiveness of your camouflage.

These days, the top Ghillie suits have seamless, synthetic material on the inside which is comfortable and light weight. Material would also be water-proof , rot-proof , mildew resistant , fire-retardant , washable , odor-less and non-allergenic. An ultimate Ghille suit is one where one can stalk effectively but still stay very mobile, it also pays to look for breathable Ghillie suits as they tend to overheat very easily.

Gas Airsoft - Power and Portability Combined

In the world of airsoft guns first comes spring powered and then we have gas powered airsoft guns. Spring airsoft guns are great fun and totally functional but gas models take the airsoft hobby a step up. The annoying aspect of spring airsoft is having to manually cock the gun each time you fire it - whether it's a pistol or not. Gas airsoft guns contain a gas charge (hence the name) so your single shot days are over and you can enjoy a more automatic firing experience. These guns work in the same way as the spring ones in that a piston compresses and drives air through the gun barrel to fire the bb but because there's a "constant" gas charge in the gun you can fire several dozen rounds without having to worry about cocking it again.

You'll notice that most airsoft gas guns are hanguns or small machine guns - the Uzi being a perfect example. There are a few gas powered rifles but these only ever seem to be sniper models and never assault rifle replicas. A full sized airsoft assault rifle could deplete an entire gas charge or even a tin of compressed gas in just a few moments. That same amount of gas would provide an airsoft handgun with enough power to fire off several clips of bbs and leave some gas to spare.

Your airsoft gas handgun or machinegun is recharged through a small nozzle at the base of the gun - usually right underneath the handgrip or near where the ammo clip is inserted. Simply press a can of gas into the nozzle and fill the gun until it's fully charged. For the first few bursts the gun will be operating at full power and then it will slowly die off until it's a feeble popping noise and it'll need to be recharged again.

Running an airsoft gas gun ain't free but it doesn't cost the earth either. The running costs are, however, something you need to take into account before buying one of these guns. A 1000ml tin of gas will cost about $8 or alternatively you can buy a gas pump that you carry around with you. This is pumped to a certain pressure and you can then recharge the gun from this. The only downside to these is that you have to carry the pump around with you as it's permanently attached to the gun itself.

Because airsoft gas guns contain a sealed gas chamber they need to be handled with extra care. Personally I've destroyed one Desert Eagle and a Beretta by dropping them on hard ground and cracking the case of the gun. These proved impossible to repair and the guns had to be thrown out. Treat any gas powered airsoft weapon with extra care - you'll thank yourself in the long run.

The general types of airsoft guns include springers, gas and the electric. The Springer type of the gun requires the player to cock the firing spring before every shot is fired. In the gas type of the devise, compressed gas is used to push out BBs.

The electric type is the latest and uses a motor to do the pulling back of the spring between the shots. This one is favored by most of the participants both beginners and experienced. Many companies are engaged in the manufacture of airsoft guns and you can make your selection from them. You can choose from a wide range of real image pistols, assault rifles and big air soft rifles.

The collection of real looking but an absolutely non-lethal yet majestic replica of firearms for shooting sport is normally known as Airsoft. The purchase of an airsoft gun requires high degree of knowledge about the technical ability of a particular piece to deriver complete satisfaction. Price is always a factor for quality. If it is for the first time use, the beginner should go for a low priced model. Professional's players, taking part in competitions, use the highly sophisticated models of airsoft guns which are very expensive.

The beginners should select an airsoft gun model of simple technicalities to become conversant with the shooting game. Electric Airsoft Gun Games

Electric Gun and Electric Airsoft Guns

Are you considering getting involved in a new hobby that involves shooting at other people but in a controlled environment with bullets that won't cause life-threatening injuries? If so you might be trying to decide between a couple of options. You could consider becoming interested in electric airsoft guns, for example, or you could think about an activity like paintball or lasertag that have similar elements. While the choice you make will depend on your overall preference, there are some real advantages to choosing the electric gun option.

Electronic Gun Choices

A big reason why Airsoft is so incredibly popular around the world is the variety of electronic guns you can select for playing. Nearly any type of gun is going to be available, including AK47s and sniper rifles that are some of the best sellers. Most of the guns on the market are replicas of authentic guns from the past or present that adds to the realism of play. With paintball and laser tag, you're not going to see that type of realism. For one, real guns don't shoot paint or lasers. Of course, there are some choices when it comes to paintball guns. However, you won't find any options with laser tag equipment that is usually not purchased but rented from the establishment or included in the fees.

Examining the Airsoft Options

There are some key differences among all three of these options that you need to understand before we look at those advantages. First, if you're going to be playing Airsoft then you'll be using a type of gun that shoots BBs. During the match, you'll be firing at team members based on a pre-defined scenario. This is very similar to paintball with the exception of the ammo. Airsoft ammo does not normally contain paint. Laser tag is actually very different in terms of equipment - gun only shoots lasers - but is quite similar in terms of overall play dynamics.

Electric Airsoft Guns Cost

While price may not be the primary factor in the decision you make, it will probably play an important role. Using an electronic gun is going to be more cost-effective in the long run. Not only do many of the weapons cost less than the paintball varieties but their ammunition is also quite a bit less costly. The cost of about 100 rounds of paintball ammo costs approximately the same as about 1,000 rounds for the average Airsoft gun. With laser tag, you won't buy any equipment normally and you won't need ammo, but you'll have to pay rental costs every time you play and that could add up if you're regulars. The purchase of either an airsoft electric guns or a paintball gun is going to be a smarter investment long run.

Conclusion - Electric AirSoft Guns

Clearly, there are many good reasons to choose an airsoft electric guns over your other options. But when you make that final choice it's going to be based on which of these activities you enjoy the most. Based on what most people who have experienced an Airsoft match have said, that's going to give it a clear advantage over the competition.

Everything You Need to Know About Airsoft Guns

Airsoft rifles first originated in Japan. It was around 1980 when the first one came out. These guns are the newest technology of toy gun replicas. They hit the market big worldwide because people liked how they were exact replicas of the real thing. The reloading process and their weight are like the real gun they are replicating. These guns can propel BBs anywhere from 30-260 meters per second for spring or gas guns.

It can be very difficult picking out the right airsoft gun because there are so many different ones in the market. You must choose a gun that fits your needs, and one that you like. Some things to keep in mind when picking out a toy gun are: capability, cost, FPS, RPM, maintenance, and functionality. You need to decide if you want airsoft sniper rifles, airsoft rifles, airsoft pistols, or shotguns. This will depend on what you want your place to be on the airsoft field.

There are three different types of airsoft guns. The most popular ones are the electric airsoft guns. It is powered by a rechargeable battery. There are many different batteries, and you must make sure you buy the right one that fits your gun. Electric airsoft rifles are the most popular, but they are also very expensive. There is also a gas airsoft gun. The most popular gas airsoft gun are airsoft pistols. These guns have the most power out of the three. The BBs are propelled by the pressurized gas. One disadvantage of these is that every time you need to play airsoft, you also need gas. That requires a trip to the store every time. The last type is an airsoft spring gun. This gun is the least popular out of the three. They are neither automatic or semi-automatic. After every time firing you need to re-cock the gun to shoot again. Having to do this slows down your shooting time significantly. Airsoft sniper rifles are usually spring guns.

If you are still not sure on what kind to get think of what you are going to be using it for. If you want it to have precise accuracy you should think of getting spring airsoft sniper rifles. If you want it to have an airsoft war, with your friends, you should probably think of getting an electric airsoft gun or a gas gun. An spring gun will take you much too time to reload in an airsoft war.

Gas Airsoft Guns Accessories

Are you interested in purchasing Gas Airsoft Guns? If so, you don't want to start your shopping experience without first learning a few important things to look in the Airsoft Guns model that you select. If this is your first Airsoft Gas Gun purchase, you may not know everything you should about choosing the right Gas Airsoft Gun for your needs. Replica Airsoft Guns offers these tips to help inform you and prepare you for a satisfying shopping experience and future fun with your Airsoft firearm.

About the Gas BlowBack Air soft Gun 33

Chances are you do want this feature in the airsoft gas guns you select. Basically, blow back occurs when that gas, which propelled the pellet or bb out of the muzzle of the firearm, returns towards the gun in order to put the spring back in place for the next shot. The advantage of blowback is that it makes firing multiple shots with your gas sniper airsoft rifle much easier and faster. That means you'll have a definite advantage over any competitors who do not have such a feature on their Gas Airsoft Guns.

And not all of them do have blow back. This is only a required feature on the models that are consider automatic or semi-automatic, unlike the shotguns. If you definitely want blow back, then you have to look for these specific types of guns.

Different Types of Gas for Your Air Soft Guns

As the name suggests, these soft air guns use pressurized gas to set off the ammo. However, the type of gas used in these firearms varies. Commonly, there are three types of gas options to choose from. One is standard CO2. Another is HFC134a, which is a type of refrigerant. And, finally, some of the guns used a product known as green gas, see gas green airsoft gun that is made from a combination of propane and silicone oil. If you're looking for power, the best choice is the green gas. It's by far the most powerful of all the propellants on the market.

Keep in mind, however, that not all gas airsoft pistols can use green gas. If you use this gas in firearms which are not created to handle it then you could end up damaging your gas airsoft rifles. No amount of extra power is worth doing that. If you're no sure whether or not green gas works in your gun, talk to someone who knows at Replica Airsoft Guns. You can contact our customer service department at with your questions.

What About the Prices

Of course another important consideration when you buy any type of recreational item is the cost. While most people would agree that the average Gas Airsoft Guns are reasonably priced, you also want to figure in the prices of your accessories. It's like purchasing a video game console. You may only budget for the price of the system but you're also going to need cash for the games, controllers, and other accessories. With these firearms, you'll want to get more ammo, more gas, maybe a carrying case and lubricant oil, and possibly some handy targets for practicing your ability to aim and hit your target consistently.

Electric Airsoft Guns - Introduction

We all know that there are three main categories of airsoft guns. Beginners mostly opt for spring guns; you need to cock the gun prior to each shot, but the cost of getting spring handguns, rifles, shotguns, and sniper rifles are relatively cheaper than the other two types. There are also gas guns, using CO2, green gas, or nitrogen pressurized in the inner chamber to propel bullets in semi-automatic or full-automatic mode. Gas airsoft handguns as well as several rifles offer realistic recoil effects called Gas Blow-Back or GBB; this is why most gas handguns and rifles are called GBBs. The last is what we are going to discuss in this article: electric guns.

Electric airsoft guns, or Automatic Electric Guns (AEGs), were first introduced by Japanese guns manufacturer. Several earlier models were released by Tokyo Marui and other Japanese brands, before Chinese and other manufacturers follow the new trend. Electric guns offer unique mixture of automatic firing capabilities, great performance and power, plus highly affordable price tags.

It is not a secret that AEGs were first created to bridge the gap between spring and gas guns. Gas airsoft guns or GBBs are quite expensive indeed, and some players just don't have the right budget to purchase gas airsoft gears. AEGs, however, are very affordable. You can actually find different models priced at less than $60, with some higher end models being priced at a little above $150.

Since the guns are battery-powered, you will have to recharge their batteries before each play. A full charge can be used to fire more than enough shots to last the whole battle and some more. The electric airsoft guns also produce similar power compared to GBBs, so you wouldn't have to worry about not being able to hit the right range at all.

The only drawback of AEGs when compared to GBBs is the lack of realistic recoil effects when you fire your toy. For avid enthusiasts, this is exactly why they rather spend more money getting GBBs. All in all, AEGs are offering a nice bridging between spring and gas airsoft guns.

Finding the Right Airsoft Rifle for You

Airsoft guns came into existence in Japan in the 1970s when the right to own firearms was taken away. Although an air soft rifle is not real, it looks just like a real rifle. It is not designed to do the same kind of damage that a real rifle will do. The rifles are usually electrically powered and use a rechargeable battery. You can also get an airsoft sniper rifle, and semi-automatic assault rifles. Heavy duty weaponry for fun. The semi and fully automatic rifles can shoot 250 rounds. You can find these rifles in some toy stores. When you choose an air soft rifle you will have to decide between a gas, electric or spring powered rifle. A great deal of the air soft rifles also have scopes on them. There are also German and British spring powered airsoft rifles. The airsoft rifle is actually an alternative option to the paint gun.

Now that you have chosen your airsoft rifle what are you going to do? Throughout the country there are clubs formed that have airsoft tournaments. Airsoft clubs play individual or team oriented war games. A lot of the scenario is based on your honesty, as once you are hit you are done. It can be a lot of fun participating in this activity. There are also competitive target shooting competitions. You don't have to worry about the ammunition used either. The airsoft rifle shoots round plastic pellet like bullets. They are more likely to sting you rather than actually hurt you, if you are hit. It is important for you to have safety equipment when you are in a war or reenactment. The minimum required equipment is impact rated googles for your eye safety.

Many of these clubs have birthday and event packages. You can gather all your friends for several hours of shoot and be shot fun. There are even rifle rentals on site. Airsoft clubs have been started not only nationwide, but all over the world. You must know the rules and regulations of the countries you are playing in. One of the rules in the United States is that you must have an orange tip on any toy gun. This includes the airsoft guns and rifles.

Now that you see the fun you can have look up your local club on the Internet, call the club and inquiry as to how you can become involved and start to play. Believe it, you will never regret it.

Gas Airsoft Pistols - Everything You Need to Know

Gas Airsoft pistols are the most widely used secondary firearms in Airsoft skirmishes and tournaments. This is because many gas pistols are fully-automatic which allows the operator to empty an entire clip of BBs in just a second or two. That's crucial if you ever get into a situation where you don't have the time to reload your primary, especially if there are multiple targets in the vicinity. You won't be able to find an electric pistol very often, simply because the battery required to make a pistol fully-automatic would be too big to fit inside the handle. So for a truly deadly and reliable secondary, nothing comes close to the gas pistol.

Gas pistols come in blowback and non-blowback form. Blowback pistols offer a realistic recoil effect when fired, but this often reduces the velocity of the BB since some of the energy required to propel the BB forward is used to push the slide of the gun back. Non-blowback pistols lack the realism of blowback pistols, but they make up for this with high shooting speeds. Some non-blowback pistols can shoot upwards of 500 feet per second, that's the same velocity as some spring sniper rifles. Also, non-blowbacks are more conservative with the gas they use when compared to blowbacks, allowing the user to fire more shots before the need to reload on gas.

Gas Airsoft pistols often use.12g BBs or.20g BBs. They are often semi-automatic or both semi-automatic and fully-automatic. They often come with a gas magazine when purchased at retail but users often purchase the CO2 magazine clip upgrade. This allows the pistol to use CO2 gas instead of propane and these magazines often store a couple more BBs in the clip than standard propane magazines. Overall, they are very entertaining to shoot and won't break the bank for something that has a full-automatic firing system.

Sniper Airsoft Guns - The Ultimate in Excitement

You've seen them in the movies: they creep through their surroundings, invisible and ever so slowly stalking their next victim. Knowing that they do not have to even get close to their target makes them even more menacing. Now, with Airsoft sniper guns you can feel the same thrill that the professionals do.

When looking at this type of gun there is quite a selection available. If you are into the game for power you came to the right group of weapons. The gas versions are the most powerful guns by this manufacturer. They can either green gas, propane or co2 for their propellent. Here is a list of the available choices that you have:

AGM VSR10- This is primarily for starters or younger users. This is a spring gun so to fire it must be cocked every time. These are some of the most reliable guns because there are very few parts, easier to break and build back, and very little to maintain.

M700- This is a replica of a gun manufactured by Remington. Since this is an upgrade the weight is more similar and the gun balanced throughout. It is actually used by some police and military groups. This gun is surprisingly powerful and packs quite a velocity for its price.

AGM L96- This is a spring action gun. It is a solid gun with possible upgrades available. This is a great starter gun if you are on a budget, but it is still solidly made and evokes the real thing. It is very powerful for its size.

HFC VSR10- This is a single action bolt rifle that is convertible to a gas gun. It comes in either a simulated wood or black mat stock. There are two versions of this gun, one of which allows you to have a small recoil action and louder noise when fires.

UTG L96- This is single fire bolt action. Some of the upgrades available are mounting bracket for a bi-pod stand and a mountable bracket for optional scope. It also blends well with your surroundings due to the camouflage stock.

As you can see, there are sniper Airsoft guns for everyone. From basic to expert level, you can find the right weapon to enhance you next outing, and each will serve you well for years to come.

The MP5 Airsoft Gun

As a long time airsoft player and member of a large UK airsoft team, I have used an extensive array of airsoft bb's guns throughout my career and built a sound knowledge on their construction, repair and effectiveness.

I've played on every type of airsoft site, including woodland, urban, quarries, FIBUA (fighting in built up areas) and CQB (close quarters combat), and can safely say that out of all of the guns that I have used, any one of the mp5 airsoft gun variants would serve you well as an effective primary weapon.

The Heckler & Koch MP5

The MP5 is a 9mm submachine gun created by gun manufacturers Heckler & Koch in the 1960s. 'The 'MP' in 'MP5' is short for the German Maschinenpistole, meaning 'machine pistol', and it's light weight, compact size and rapid fire have made it a highly successful and widely adopted weapon across the world.

Used by law enforcement units in over 40 countries including the British armed response, the MP5 has seen a large number of variants to adapt itself to any situation thrown at it. However, the most popular variants are the MP5 PDW, featuring a foldable skeletal stock and vertical fore grip, and the MP5A4, featuring a full stock and standard (angled) fore grip.

The MP5 airsoft gun

The first MP5 airsoft gun was first created by Tokyo Marui, but is now produced by a wide range of manufacturers including Classic Army, Jing Gong, Cyma, Well and ACM.

The build quality and materials used will vary from brand to brand, but most have hardened plastic bodies made of ABS or another similar plastic. Due to the compact nature of the gun, most MP5's will use version 2 gearboxes, holding the motor in suspension inside the handle between the bottom plate and the gearbox itself.

The guns use slim curved magazines which can hold high capacity magazines of up to 200 bb's. While a 200 round magazine is relatively small for an airsoft gun, it is possible to carry 5 or 6 quite easily with suitable webbing and even double them up with double magazine clamps if required.

Miraculously, the guns ingenious design means that they can use 8.4v 1400maH stick batteries, threaded along the top of the gun (similar to the AK47's) and connecting at the fore grip. A battery of that type should last you most of the day (assuming you're only firing at what you can actually hit) but it is advisable to change it before it runs out, as removing the battery under fire can be a very difficult task!

Inner barrel length

Unsurprisingly, the compact nature of the MP5 does mean that their inner barrels are very short - in fact, the inner barrel of the MP5K, a mini version of the MP5 with no stock, is only 110mm. This can mean that their effective range is shorter than many airsoft electric guns, however this can be extended with a higher quality barrel or hop up, such as those made by Systema or Prometheus.

Alternatively, the inner barrel can be made longer by extending it into a silencer or using a larger MP5 variant such as the MP5 SD series, which features an elongated fore grip and integral silencer, allowing inner barrel lengths of up to 363mm.

MP5's in airsoft game

Like any airsoft gun, the MP5 can be a help or a hindrance depending on your play style, but one thing that can be said is that they are incredibly versatile.

The MP5PDW is an incredibly effective CQB weapon. It's just plain fast - fast to move with, fast to turn with, fast to draw and fast to fire. It's small size is a huge benefit when playing indoors as it keep your profile compact, doesn't poke to far around corners and keeps your gun where your shoulders are pointing.

Even in woodland games many snipers find that the MP5K is a fantastic sidearm, and its ability to use stick batteries and 200 round magazines vastly outperforms other machine pistols of that size such as scorpions, tec-9's and mac10's.

Of course, an MP5K is too small a primary weapon in woodland games, and that's where the variants come in. The standard MP5A4 is more than capable as a primary weapon, and if you're a sneaky player you'll love it's light weight size when you're crawling through the mud.

In my opinion, the only things MP5's are not suitable for are as support weapons and sniper rifles, but if you are one of those players, I'm not really sure why you'd be reading about MP5's in the first place!

So get out there and get one, you won't regret it.
